BITS HD Exam Pattern 2023: Marking Scheme, Negative Marking, Total Marks

BITS HD exam pattern 2023 is different for the two tests. Tests 1 and 2 will be conducted for a period of 45 minutes and 105 minutes respectively. The mode of conduction is online and the pattern of questions is MCQs. There will be a negative marking of -1 mark for wrongly attempted questions. Candidates are advised to attempt the papers carefully.

BITS HD 2023 Exam Pattern

Candidates who satisfy the BITS HD 2023 eligibility can apply for the exam. BITS HD 2023 exam will be held only online, as a computer-based test (CBT).

The candidate will be given 45 minutes for Test 1 and 105 minutes for Test 2. And time for "Test for Software Systems" and "Test for M.E. Sanitation Science, Technology and Management" will be 60 minutes each. Syllabus for BITS HD 2023 is given for both tests by the conducting authority.

BITS HD 2023 question papers will only contain objective or multiple choice questions (MCQs), each question with four answer choices, only one correct choice. Both Test 1 and Test 2 is compulsory for everyone except those applying for M.E Software Systems.

For admission to the M.Phil programme, there will be no BITS HD test required. Candidates will be shortlisted and later will be called for a test and interview by the concerned department based on which final admission to the programme will take place.

BITS HD 2023 Exam Pattern for M.E. Software Systems

The admission to this programme is available only through BITS HD test and GATE score of Computer Science and Information Technology (CS) will not be considered. BITS will be launching two new programmes this year, available only at their BITS Goa campus viz.

• M.E. Degree in Sanitation Science, Technology and Management,
• M.Phil. Degree in Liberal studies.  

Note: BITS HD 2023 exam questions will be randomly selected from a large question bank. Since the exam will be held on different dates, the candidates will get different question sets. An expert committee will make sure the question sets are of comparable difficulty level, content, question type etc.

BITS HD 2023 Exam Pattern for Test I

The paper I is compulsory for all students who are applying for any of the higher degree programmes of the Institute and will consist of the following sections:

BITS HD 2023 Exam Pattern for Test II

BITS HD 2023 Paper II is compulsory for students applying for all higher degree programmes except those who are applying for only Software systems. The Paper II subject for a student is based on their qualifying degree programme.

This paper will attempt to test the student’s grasp of the basic subjects of his discipline. The discipline courses of different degree programmes of BITS have been used for constructing the questions.
