What is the ePASS Scholarship?

ePASS (Electronic Payment and Application System of Scholarship) is an online portal that aims at hassle-free disbursement of scholarships to students. The Government of different states such as Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Himachal Pradesh has their respective ePASS portals for implementing the schemes that they offer. The main objective of these portals is to provide a transparent and student-centric scholarship disbursal system.

ePASS Karnataka Scholarship Portal:

Commonly known as KARePASS, this online scholarship portal is provided by the Department of Backward Classes Welfare, Government of Karnataka for the students who are domicile of Karnataka state. The scholarship can ve availed by SC/ ST/ OBC students studying in 12th/ UG/ PG courses. The different schemes under the ePASS Karnataka portal are:

  • Post-matric scholarship (PMS) scheme

ePASS Karnataka Scholarship Eligibility Criteria:

The main criterion is that the applicant should be a domicile of Karnataka state. The other required criteria are listed below:

ePASS Karnataka Scholarship Rewards and Benefits:

All the schemes under the ePASS Karnataka scholarship get variable benefits. The scholarship benefits availed by the students are listed below:

ePASS Karnataka Scholarship Application Process:

The application process for the scholarship is online. Step-wise application details are given below:

  • Firstly, the applicant should visit the KARePASS official website.
  • On the homepage, click on the 'Apply Online' button.
  • Candidate should select the option for 'Fresh Application'
  • Now, all required details should be filled on the ePASS Karnataka Application Form.
  • The next step is to upload all the necessary documents.
  • Finally, the applicant should check all the entered details and click on 'Submit'.

ePASS Telangana Scholarship Portal:

An initiative by the Department of Backward Class Welfare of the Government of Telangana, the ePASS Telangana (ePASS TS) is the scholarship portal for easy and hassle-free disbursal of scholarships to the students. The students who are domicile of the state and belonging to the SC/ ST/ BC/ EBC/ Minority welfare/ Disability welfare categories are eligible to apply. ePASS Telangana Scholarship Key Features:

The scholarship is provided for students who are interested in higher studies and are domicile of Telangana. All the details regarding the scholarship are listed below:

TS ePASS Scholarship Eligibility Criteria:

The main criterion to be eligible to avail the scholarship is that the student should be a domicile of Telangana state. The other required criteria are listed below:

  • Candidate should be studying in Class 9/ Class 10 with a minimum attendance of 75% at the end of each quarter.
  • Annual family income of the SC/ ST applicants should not exceed INR 2,00,000.
  • Annual family income of the BC/ EBC/ Minority students belonging to the urban area should not exceed INR 2,00,000
  • Annual family income of the BC/ EBC/ Minority candidates belonging to the rural area should not exceed INR 1,50,000
  • Annual family income of the Disabled applicants should not exceed INR 1,00,000

2.

Post-matric scholarship for SC/ ST/ BC/ Disabled Welfare students

  • The applicants should have passed Class 10 with a minimum of 75% attendance at the end of each quarter.
  • Candidates pursuing post-matric studies i.e. Class 11 to post-graduation are eligible to apply.

3.

Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Overseas Vidya Nidhi Schemes for BC/ EBC students

  • UG students willing to pursue PG courses abroad are eligible to apply.
  • The applicant should be a single child and his/ her maximum age limit should be 30 years as on July 1st on the year of application.
  • Annual family income of the candidate should be less than INR 1,50,000 (for rural areas) and INR 2,00,000 (for urban areas).
  • The applicant should have scored at least 60% in the UG courses such as Management, Engineering, Humanities, Social science, Pure science, Medicine, Nursing and Agricultural science.

4.

Chief Minister’s Overseas Scholarship Scheme for Minorities

  • Applicant should be graduate or postgraduate in branches such as Management, Engineering, Humanities, Social science, Pure science, Medicine, Nursing and Agricultural science.
  • Candidates willing to pursue a Postgraduate/ Doctoral degree in USA/ Canada/ UK/ Australia/ Singapore can apply.
  • The applicant should be a maximum of 30 years old as on July 1st of the year of application.
  • He/ she should have scored a minimum of 60% marks in the previous qualifying examination.
  • The annual family income of the applicant should not exceed INR 2,00,000.

5.

Ambedkar Overseas Vidya Nidhi scheme for SC/ ST students

  • Applicant should be graduate or postgraduate in branches such as Management, Engineering, Humanities, Social science, Pure science, Medicine, Nursing and Agricultural science.
  • Candidates willing to pursue a Postgraduate/ Doctoral degree in USA/ Canada/ UK/ Australia/ Singapore can apply.
  • He/ she should have scored a minimum of 60% marks in the previous qualifying examination.
  • The applicant should be a maximum of 35 years old as on July 1st of the year of application.
  • The annual family income of the student should not exceed INR 2,00,000 (for SC students) and  INR 2,50,000 (for ST students).

TS ePASS Scholarship Rewards and Benefits:

TS ePASS Scholarship Application Process:

The application process of the scholarship is online. The step by step application process is given below:

  • The applicant should visit the TS ePASS scholarship official website.
  • Candidate should choose a scholarship from the list of scholarship displayed on the home page.
  • To start a new application, the student has to click on the ‘Registration’ tab.
  • The next step is to fill in all the details such as student particulars, school/ college details, bank details, etc.
  • The scanned copies of the signature, photograph, and all other supporting documents have to be uploaded.
  • The applicant should verify all the entered details and ‘Submit’.
  • Post successful submission, the candidate will receive a TS ePASS application number which should be noted down for future reference.

ePASS Andhra Pradesh Scholarship Portal:

Also known as Jnanabhumi, this scholarship portal is an initiative by the Government of Andhra Pradesh. The main goal of the portal is transparent disbursal of scholarship to students belonging to SC/ ST/ BC/ EBC/ Minorities/ Kapu and differently-abled categories. The different scholarship schemes under Jnanabhumi are:

  1. Pre-matric Scholarship for SC/ ST/ BC and Disabled Welfare
  2. Corporate Admission Scholarship
  3. GRE, TOEFL, IELTS Coaching Registration
  4. Overseas Scholarship for Kapu Students
  5. Overseas Scholarship for BC Students
  6. Overseas Scholarship for EBC Students

The details of the different scholarships under the AP ePASS Scholarships are listed below:

 ePASS Andhra Pradesh Scholarship Eligibility Criteria:

There are a total of 6 scholarship schemes under the ePASS Andhra Pradesh scholarship for students to pursue education both within the country and abroad. The basic eligibility criteria for the students to qualify for the scholarship are listed below:

  • The annual family income of the candidates belonging to SC/ ST categories should not exceed INR 2,00,000.
  • The annual family income of the students belonging to the BC/ EBC/ Physically disabled category should not exceed INR 1,00,000.
  • The applicant should have a minimum of 75% attendance in his/ her respective educational institution.
  • Students who have taken admission under management quota/ sponsored seats are not eligible to apply.
  • Students enrolled in distance courses/ online courses/ part-time courses are not eligible.
  • Candidates who are availing stipend from other sources and whose stipend aggregate is greater than the scholarship aggregate calculated per annum are also not eligible to apply.
  • BC/ EBC/ Physically challenged students who have taken Category B seats in MBBS or BDS streams cannot apply for the scholarship.
  • EBC students who are pursuing an intermediate level or equivalent course are not eligible to apply.

For a candidate to be eligible to apply for the AP ePASS scholarship, he/ she should be pursuing one of the following courses that have been grouped into 4 categories based on the different rating metrics:

Group 1: Professional degrees and PG courses

  • Medicine courses
  • Engineering/ Technology courses
  • Management courses
  • Courses in Agriculture
  • Courses in Veterinary science and allied fields
  • Business finance/  Business administration courses
  • Computer science/ Computer application courses
  • Commercial pilot license courses

Group 2: Professional degrees and PG courses (Not covered in Group 1)

  • MPhil/ PhD/ Post Doctoral research courses
  • CA/ CA/ ICWA
  • Graduate/ Postgraduate level diploma courses
  • All certificate courses

Group 3: Degree courses (Not covered in Group 1 and 2)

  • Degree courses from NIFT (National Institute of Fashion Technology)

ePASS Andhra Pradesh Scholarship Rewards and Benefits:

The scholarship benefits availed by the selected applicants are listed below:

  • Reimbursement of tuition fees based on the course
  • For most of the courses, 100% tuition fee reimbursement can be applied.
  • For self-financed courses, a financial grant of INR 20,000 or actual college fee whichever is less.

ePASS Andhra Pradesh Scholarship Application Process:

The main objective of the scholarship portal is to provide an easy and hassle-free scholarship disbursal system for the deserving students. The scholarship application process is done online. The stepwise procedure is given below:

  • The first step is to visit the AP ePASS scholarship official website.
  • A  pre-matric/ post-matric course should be selected from the list of courses displayed on the screen.
  • The applicant should click on the ‘Registration tab’  as a new user.
  • Basic personal details have to be entered at this stage.
  • Contact and academic details should also be filled in.
  • Course details, college details, and bank details have to be entered as well.
  • The next step is to enter the caste details and income group level.
  • All the supporting documents should be uploaded at this stage.
  • The applicant has to verify all the entered details and should ‘Submit’ the completed form.
  • A print out of the submitted form has to be taken.
  • The hard copy of the completed application form along with all the supporting documents should be submitted to the respective educational institution.

AP ePASS Scholarship Renewal Process:

The renewal process for the scholarship is done online. The stepwise procedure is given below:

  • The candidate should visit the AP ePASS scholarship official website.
  • He/ she should enter the previous years’ registration ID and password.
  • The applicant should then click on the ‘Renewal’ button for the current year.
  • Enter the attendance details, marks obtained, and any other required detail at this stage.
  • Scan and upload all the supporting documents needed.
  • Verify all the entered details and ‘Submit’ the application.
  • Take a print out of the submitted application form and along with all the supporting documents submit it to the respective educational institution.

ePASS Himachal Pradesh Scholarship Portal:

The Department of Higher Education, Government of Himachal Pradesh has initiated this scholarship portal for the fair disbursal of scholarships to deserving students. The eligibility criteria for the different schemes under the HP ePASS Scholarship are listed below:

National Scheme of Incentive to Girls for Secondary Education (NSIGSE)

  • Scholarship is available only for girl children.
  • She must have taken admission in the 9th class.
  • The applicant should not have completed 16 years of age as on 31st March of the respective year.
  • She should have passed the middle standard examination from the Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya irrespective of caste/ religion.

Pre-matric Scholarship Scheme for SC/ ST Students

  • Students of Class 9 and 10 belonging to SC/ ST  are eligible.
  • The annual family income of the applicant should not exceed INR 2,50,000.

Pre-matric Scholarship Scheme for OBC Students

  • Students from Class 1-10 belonging to OBC can apply.
  • The annual family income of the candidate should not exceed INR 2,50,000.

Post-matric Scholarship Scheme for SC/ ST Students

  • SC/ ST students who wish to pursue their education post matriculation are eligible to apply.
  • The annual family income of the applicant should not exceed INR 2,50,000.

Post-matric Scholarship Scheme for OBC Students

  • OBC students who wish to pursue their education post matriculation can apply.
  • The annual family income of the applicant should not exceed INR 1,50,000.

Dr. Ambedkar post-matric Scholarship for EBC Students

  • Students belonging to the general category are eligible to apply.
  • The annual family income of the applicant should not exceed INR 1,00,000.

Upgradation of Merit of SC/ ST Students

  • 6 SC students and 1 ST student are awarded this scholarship based on merit.
  • The students should be enrolled in Class 9 at GSSS Bharmour, Chamba.

Merit-cum-Means Scholarship Scheme for Minority Community Students

  • Students belonging to minority groups such as Muslims, Jains, Sikhs, Christians, and Buddhists are eligible to apply.
  •  He/ she should have scored a minimum of 50% marks in the last qualifying examination.
  • The annual family income of the applicant should not exceed INR 2,50,000.

Post-matric Scholarship Scheme for Minority Community Students

  • Students belonging to minority groups such as Muslims, Jains, Sikhs, Parsis, Christians, and Buddhists are eligible to apply.
  •  He/ she should have scored a minimum of 50% marks in the last qualifying examination.

Maulana Azad National Scholarship Scheme for Meritorious Girl Students of Minority Community

  • Girl students belonging to minority communities such as Muslims, Jains, Sikhs, Parsis, Christians, and Buddhists are eligible to apply.
  • The candidate should have scored a minimum of 50% marks in the last qualifying examination.
  • The annual family income of the applicant should not exceed INR 2,00,000.

National Means-cum-Merit Scholarships

  • Students of Class 9 and 10 who want to pursue further studies.
  • The annual family income of the candidate should not exceed INR 1,50,000.

Dr. Ambedkar Pre-matric Scholarship for DNTs

  • Candidates should belong to the Denotified, nomadic and semi-nomadic tribe.
  • The annual family income of the applicant should not exceed INR 2,00,000.
  • This scholarship is provided to the DNTs who are not covered under the SC/ ST/ OBC category.

Dr. Ambedkar Post-matric Scholarship for DNTs

  • Candidates should belong to the Denotified, nomadic and semi-nomadic tribe.
  • The annual family income of the applicant should not exceed INR 2,00,000.
  • This scholarship is provided to the DNTs who are not covered under the SC/ ST/ OBC category.

Dr. Ambedkar Medhavi Chattervriti Yojana for SC Students

  • Meritorious students belonging to the SC category are eligible to apply.

Dr. Ambedkar Medhavi Chattervriti Yojana for OBC Students

  • Meritorious students belonging to the OBC category are eligible to apply.

Swami Vivekanand Utkrisht Yojana

  • Meritorious students belonging to the general category are eligible to apply.

Thakur Sen Negi Utkrisht Chattervriti Yojana

  • The scholarship is provided to the top meritorious 100 girls and boys belonging to the tribal community of Himachal Pradesh.

Kalpana Chawala Chattervriti Yojana

  • Top 2000 meritorious girl students of 10+2 Arts, Commerce, and Science streams are provided with the scholarship.

Mukhya Mantri Protsahan Yojana

  • Students belonging to Himachal Pradesh,  who have taken admission into any degree course from IITs or AIIMSs are eligible to apply.
  • Students belonging to Himachal Pradesh, who have taken admission into any postgraduate course from IIMs, Indian School of Mines (ISM) at Jharkhand or IISc at Bangalore are eligible to apply.

Maharshi Balmiki Chattervriti Yojana

  • Himachali girl students belonging to Balmiki families engaged in unclean occupations can apply.
  • The scholarship is provided to students from post matriculation to college level for studies from any Government/ Private recognized educational institution situated within Himachal Pradesh.

IRDP Scholarship Scheme

  • Candidates belonging to IRDP families studying in Class 9 to the university level at Government/ Government aided educational institutions in Himachal Pradesh can apply for the scholarship.

Sainik School Sujanpur Tihara Scholarship

  • Candidates should be studying in Sainik School Sujanpur Tihra.
  • Students should be from Class 6-12.

Rashtriya Indian Military College Scholarship

  • Scholarship is awarded to 10 students who are bonafide residents of HP.
  • Candidates should be studying in Class 8-12 from Rashtriya Indian Military College, Dehradun.

NDA Scholarship Scheme

  • Scholarship is awarded to cadets of HP, who are getting trained at National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla, Pune.
  • Financial Assistance to Children of Armed Forces personnel killed/ disabled during war/ operations

Mukhya Mantri Gyandeep Yojana

  • Students who are bonafide of HP state pursuing a Professional/ Teaching course and Higher education courses from recognized institutions in India are eligible to apply.

Indira Gandhi Utkrisht Chattervriti Yojana for Plus Two Students

  • Top 10 male candidates from the merit list of 10+2 Arts, Science, and Commerce stream under the HP Board of School Education, Dharamshala is provided with the scholarship.
  • Top 10 students (Both male and female) from the merit list of BA/ BSc/ BCom stream under HPU, Shimla are provided with the scholarship to pursue any academic/ professional course.

HP ePASS Scholarship Application Process:

To apply for the HP ePASS scholarship, the applicant should visit the official website and get registered in the scholarship portal. One candidate can apply for up to 13 scholarships in the portal. The details of the application procedure for the scholarship is given below:

Step 1- Student Registration

  • Firstly, the applicant should visit the HP ePASS Scholarship official website.
  • He/ she should go to the ‘Student Login’ section on the homepage.
  • If applying for the first time, the student should click on ‘New Student Registration’. Else if already registered, then proceed to login.
  • All the details required have to be filled carefully. 
  • Click on ‘Register’ to complete the registration process.

Step 2- Portal Sign-in

  • The applicant has to login to the portal by providing the Aadhar number/ Electronic Identification number and password.
  • Click on the ‘Submit application’ to get access to the application form to apply for any of the schemes.

Step 3- Application Form Filling Procedure

  • In the application form, the applicant has to fill in all the institution and course details.
  • Changes cannot be made to the personal details provided at the time of registration.
  • Next, the candidate should fill in the contact details and bank account details in which the scholarship amount is to be received.
  • The details filled in this section can be edited or updated by logging in to the portal.
  • Click on the ‘Submit’ button for the successful submission of the application form.

Step 4- Printout of the submitted application form

  • Post successful submission of the application, the candidates are required to take a printout of the same.
  • The application form copy along with the supporting documents should be mailed to the respective institution before the deadline.

HP ePASS Scholarship Documents Required:

The documents required to be uploaded with the HP ePASS application form are:

  • Passport size photograph
  • Birth certificate
  • Aadhar card copy
  • Himachali bonafide certificate
  • Income certificate
  • Receipts and fee structure of the university
  • Marks card of the last qualifying examination
  • Students’ bank account statement
  • Caste certificate
  • Tribal certificate, if applicable
