The course consists of subjects such as Ship stability, ship operation technology, ship navigation technology, etc which are the fundamentals of maritime operation.

After completion of 12 months onboard training on a merchant ship, graduates of this course are eligible to apply for the 2nd mates' exam. Upon clearing exams such as ROC, which consists of both oral and written exams, the candidate can appear for MMD exams and obtain 2nd Mate Of a merchant's vessel. The job opportunities are wide open in both private and public organizations which involve security and merchant navy. Candidates are also eligible to get a job offer from marine shipping companies and fisheries companies along with marine research organizations.

Why Choose BSc Nautical Science  Course?

Opting for this course depends majorly on the interest and passion of the student in maritime and nautical science. Unlike Marine Engineering, the subjects majorly deal with ship/vessel operation concepts and methods along with navigation. Students who have the adrenaline to explore marine life are very much welcomed to opt for this course. The course will provide an onboard 6-month training for graduates on anchoring the ship and seamanship, which are essential for becoming captains. Some of the job opportunities that are available for a graduate of B.Sc Nautical Science course are:

  • 2nd Mate of Ship
  • Ship Captain
  • Senior Navigation analyst
