Indian Maritime University, [IMU] Navi Mumbai was established in 2017. The campus was formerly under the Directorate General of Shipping which later came under the Central Government. The Campus was formerly known as Training Ship Chanakya. The University is a central university.
IMU, Navi Mumbai Campus courses include B.Sc and M.Sc programs. The undergraduate courses especially focus on Nautical Science and the undergraduate courses focus on Maritime management related courses. It also conducts one year DNS programs leading to B.Sc degree in Nautical Sciences.
