Indian Maritime University, [IMU] Navi Mumbai was established in 2017. The campus was formerly under the Directorate General of Shipping which later came under the Central Government. The Campus was formerly known as Training Ship Chanakya. The University is a central university.

IMU, Navi Mumbai Campus courses include B.Sc and M.Sc programs. The undergraduate courses especially focus on Nautical Science and the undergraduate courses focus on Maritime management related courses. It also conducts one year DNS programs leading to B.Sc degree in Nautical Sciences.

IMU, Navi Mumbai Campus programs are designed to inculcate officer like traits and qualities among the students. The University puts a lot of stress on training the students physically. The syllabus of the School Board of Nautical Studies is used for its programs.

Courses	Eligibility
B.Sc	The candidates should have passed 10+2 [PCM] or equivalent with 60% [55% for SC/ST] aggregate and 50% marks in English. The candidates should also be physically fit. The eligible candidates will have to sit for a Common Entrance Test [CET] conducted by the University. The candidates should be minimum of 17 years and maximum on 25 years.
M.Sc	The candidates should have a Bachelor's Degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks from recognized Universities. The candidates holding a Bachelor's Degree must then sit for a Common Entrance Test conducted by the University.
