What is a Good Score in JEE Main?
A candidate scoring 250 or higher in JEE Main is considered good because their percentile score will be in the 85-95 percentile range. This score is ideal for admission to NITs and IITs via the examination. Candidates must rank in the top 20,000 to be admitted to our country’s most prestigious NITs and IITs.
What is NTA Score in JEE Main?
The NTA Scores are normalized scores across multi-session papers, and the marks assigned are based on the relative performance of all the candidates that appeared for the examination in one session. The following points must be considered regarding the NTA score of JEE Main:
- The marks obtained are transformed into a scale ranging from 100 to 0 for each session of examinees.
- The NTA Score in JEE Main indicates the percentage of candidates who have scored EQUAL TO OR BELOW (same or lower raw scores) that particular candidate in that session.
- The NTA Score of the Total is NOT an aggregate or average of the NTA Score of individual subjects.
- The NTA score mentioned on the JEE Main 2024 scorecard differs from the percentage of marks obtained.
JEE Main Scorecard 2024 Validity
The JEE Main scorecard 2024 is valid for only one year. JEE Main 2024 Score vs Percentile
Applicants can use their JEE Main scores to calculate their JEE Main percentile. It helps applicants get an understanding of their rank. The percentile helps candidates estimate how many candidates are more or less than them. It is important to note that the candidate who scores the highest among all the other candidates is given the 100 percentile score. The percentile score of a candidate can be calculated by multiplying 100 by the ratio of the number of candidates who scored equal to or less than the candidate and the total number of candidates who appeared in a particular examination session. The formula required to calculate rank from the percentile is:
((100 – P)/100)×N + 1)
Here, NTA Score: P, Total number of students: N |
