Minimum Marks in JEE Mains to Qualify for JEE Advanced
To appear for the JEE Advanced examination, candidates must qualify for the JEE Mains. Before filling up the application form, candidates must check the cutoff of the current year and then apply. Listed below in points are considered while determining the minimum marks in JEE Mains to qualify JEE Advanced 2023:
- Candidates should be in the top 2,50,000 (including all categories) in Paper-1 of JEE Main to satisfy the JEE Advanced eligibility criteria 2023.
- Candidates must have passed Class XII to apply for admission in 2023.
- For candidates belonging to the general category, their birth year should be on or after 1 October 1998. Candidates from the reserved category (SC/ST/PwD) will have five years of age relaxation.
- Candidates should clear the class 12th examination with compulsory subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
- Candidates are only allowed to appear two times in two consecutive years for the JEE Advanced.

Factors Determining the JEE Advanced Cutoff 2023
IIT Guwahati will declare the determining factors for the JEE Advanced for 2023. However, there are a few points on which the cutoff will be decided, and they are as follows:
- The difficulty level of the particular years' question paper
- Previous years' trends of JEE Advanced exam cutoffs
- The total number of candidates who appeared for the exam.
- The total number of seats available under the participating institutes

JEE Advanced Exam Pattern 2023
Candidates are advised to go through the exam pattern before appearing for the JEE Advanced 2023. The seven zonal coordinating IITs will conduct JEE Advanced under the Joint Admission Board 2023 (JAB 2023).
- JEE Advanced has two papers (Paper 1 and 2). Candidates have to appear for both papers.
- The time duration for both papers is three hours each.
- The question paper will consist of multiple-choice questions (MCQ) and numerical questions.
- Three marks will be awarded for each correct answer, and one mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
- The answering medium will be both English and Hindi.
- Candidates applying for admission to Architecture programmes offered by the IITs must be eligible for the Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT) 2023.
- The test will be conducted online.

Key Highlights of JEE Advanced 2023
Here are some of the key highlights of the JEE Advanced exam. It will be helpful for candidates to get a proper understanding of the exam.
- The total duration of each paper is 3 hours and 4 hours for PwD candidates.
- The on-screen computer clock counter of every candidate will be set at the server. The countdown timer on the top right side of the computer screen will display the time remaining (in minutes) available for the candidate to complete the examination.
- The candidate will not be required to end or submit the examination. When the timer reaches zero, the examination will end by itself.
- The question paper will have questions from physics, chemistry, and mathematics. Candidates need to answer questions from each subject (or section).
