Maharashtra scholarships, provided by the state government of Maharashtra and other elite institutions, offer financial aid to the students domiciled in the state. State Government Open Merit Maharashtra Scholarship 

The state government open merit Maharashtra scholarship forms for students pursuing an undergraduate degree in science, commerce, art or law courses. The department of higher and technical education under the Maharashtra government provides the scholarship. However, this scheme is exclusively available to the domiciles or permanent residents of Maharashtra.

Government Vidyaniketan Maharashtra Scholarship 

The government vidyaniketan Maharashtra scholarship offers monetary aid to students who have passed class X from a government vidyanikethan institution. The Directorate of Higher Education (DHE) provides this scholarship and selects the candidates based on merit. The state government will offer financial aid to help students complete their higher studies.

Eklavya Maharashtra Scholarship 

The Directorate of Higher Education (DHE) under the government of Maharashtra provides the Eklavya scholarship to the domiciles who have completed their undergraduate degree. The authorities will select the candidates based on merit. The candidates should be pursuing a postgraduate degree.

  • They should hold an undergraduate degree in commerce, science, arts or law.

  • The annual family income should not exceed INR 75,000 per annum.
  • The applicants should not have a part-time or full-time job.

Foreign Education Scholarship for SC Students in Maharashtra 

The state government's social justice and special assistance department provide foreign education scholarship for SC students in Maharashtra. The state-funded scholarship offers financial support to SC students aspiring to pursue higher education overseas. However, the scholars should refund the expenses incurred by the government if they discontinue their course.

Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj Scholarship 

The Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj scholarship is provided by the Department of Technical Education (DTE). They offer financial support to underprivileged students pursuing a diploma, undergraduate or postgraduate degree in professional or technical courses. However, the candidates should be pursuing a degree through the Centralised Centralised Admission Process (CAP). This Maharashtra government scholarship is also available to the students who have received admission under the general and SEBC categories. 

Eligibility Criteria 

The candidates should fulfil the following eligibility criteria for the Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj scholarship:

  • The candidates should not be receiving any scholarship or stipend.
  • Only two children from a family can receive the benefits of this Maharashtra scholarship.
  • The family income should not exceed INR 8,00,000 per annum.
  • The applicants should have at least 50% attendance in the previous semester, except for the students in the first semester.
  • They should not have a gap of two or more years while pursuing the course.

Savitribai Phule Maharashtra Scholarship 

The Savitribai Phule Maharashtra scholarship applies to female students from classes V to X. However, they should be domiciled in Maharashtra and belong to the VJNT, SBC or SC categories. The social justice and special assistance department in Maharashtra provides the Savitribai Phule Maharashtra scholarship.

Post-Matric Maharashtra Scholarships for SBC Students 

The state government provides Maharashtra scholarships to students from the VJNT, SBC, OBC, PwD, minority and other categories. Scholarship for OBC Students in Maharashtra 

The state government additionally provides the post-matric scholarship for OBC students in Maharashtra. Therefore, Maharashtra domiciles who have cleared class X and belong to the OBC category can apply to the post-matric scholarships. Minority Scholarship Maharashtra 

The minority development department under the Maharashtra scholarship provides scholarships for minorities. Eligible candidates can visit the MahaDBT Maharashtra scholarship portal to submit their applications. The Maharashtra state scholarships for minorities apply to the state's Christians, Muslims, Buddhists, Jains, Sikhs, Parsis, and Jews

  • The applicants family income should not exceed INR 8,00,000 per annum.
  • The candidates should have enrolled in the course through the CET, competitive exams or based on the HSC marks.
  • The government reserves 30% of the minority scholarship Maharashtra for girls.
  • The minority scholarship Maharashtra also applies to students studying outside Maharashtra. However, they should be domiciled or residing in Maharashtra for 15 years.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Fellowship (CMF) Program 

The government launched the Maharashtra Chief Minister Fellowship (CMF) program to recruit young and dynamic graduates for administration. The duration of the CMF program is eleven months. The selected fellows will receive INR 45,000 as monthly remuneration. 

Eligibility Criteria

  • However, the government will not provide accomodation to the fellows.

Maintenance Allowance for SC Students Studying Professional Courses 

The Maharashtra government offers maintenance allowance to SC students pursuing professional courses and residing in hostels attached to colleges. Dr Punjabrao Deshmukh Vasatigruh Nirvah Bhatta Yojna 

The Director of Higher Education (DHE) under the Maharashtra state government provides Dr Punjabrao Deshmukh vasatigruh nirvah Bhatta yojna. The candidates who are children of registered labourers and have enrolled in technical, non-technical or professional undergraduate or postgraduate courses can apply to this Maharashtra scholarship 2021 scheme. The scholars will receive up to INR 30,000 per annum for their education. 

Eligibility Criteria 

Interested candidates applying for Dr Punjabrao Deshmukh vasatigruh nirvah Bhatta yojna should fulfil the following requirements:

    • Those studying in institutes other than MMRDA, PMRDA, Aurangabad city, Nagpur city will receive INR 8,000 per annum (10 months).
  • If the Family Income is Between INR 1,00,000 to INR 8,00,000
    • Students studying in an institute at MMRDA, PMRDA, Aurangabad city, Nagpur city will receive INR 10,000 per annum (10 months).
    • Those studying in institutes other than MMRDA, PMRDA, Aurangabad city, Nagpur city will receive INR 8,000 per annum (10 months).
  • Hostel Maintenance Allowance for Family Income Below INR 8,00,000
    • Candidates studying in Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur or Aurangabad will receive INR 3,000 per annum.
    • Students studying in other locations (besides Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur and Aurangabad) will receive INR 2,000 per annum.

Maharashtra Scholarship Exam 

The Maharashtra domiciles from class V to class VIII can apply to the Maharashtra scholarship exam 2021. The Maharashtra State Council of Examination (MSCE) conducts the Maharashtra scholarship exam. It is a state-level exam aimed to recognise academically brilliant students. The Maharashtra scholarship exam was held on August 12th, 2021. The government will select the best 100 students and offer them a scholarship. MahaDBT is an official portal managed by the state government of Maharashtra. The government provides a foreign education scholarship for Maharashtra students belonging to the SC category. How to Apply for the Maharashtra Chief Minister Fellowship Program? 

Candidates who want to avail themselves of the benefits of the chief minister fellowship program can submit their applications online by visiting the official chief minister fellowship program Maharashtra scholarship website. In addition, the applicants can also obtain a list of shortlisted candidates, interview dates and results on the CMF's Maharashtra scholarship website. 

The applicants should register on the portal, and upon registration, they will receive the login credentials. Next, they should log in with their user ID and password and submit the Maharashtra scholarship application form for the CMF program.
