MahaDBT Scholarship 2023: Last Date, Registration, Eligibility

The state government launched the MahaDBT aaple sarkar portal to benefit the students domiciled in Maharashtra. It is an online application with several post-matric scholarship schemes. The students who are domiciles or permanent residents of Maharashtra can apply to these scholarships through the official portal. Those selected will receive the MahaDBT scholarship amount directly from the government.

What is MahaDBT Scholarship?

The MahaDBT aaple sarkar is an online scholarship portal initiated by the Maharashtra government. The candidates can apply for the post-matric scholarships and receive the benefits directly to their bank account through the DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) system. Besides scholarships, MahaDBT portal also offers other services for the people of Maharashtra. The candidates will receive an SMS on their registered mobile number once the provider transfers the MahaDBT scholarship funds to their bank account. 

MahaDBT Scholarship Important Date

Interested candidates domiciled in Maharashtra and belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) category can apply to the Government of India Post-matric Scheme on the MahaDBT portal. However, they should submit their applications by January 31st, 2023.

MahaDBT Scholarship List

There are subsidiary departments under the state government of Maharashtra offering several MahaDBT post-matric scholarship schemes. Social Justice and Special Assistance Department

The department of social justice and special assistance offers six schemes to students belonging to the SC category. It is exclusively available to students domiciled in the state studying in or out of Maharashtra. The eligibility criteria for the MahaDBT post-matric scholarship are mentioned underneath.  MahaDBT Social Justice and Special Assistance Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates should have an annual income not exceeding INR 2,50,000.
• They should belong to the SC or Navbouddha category.
• Students should choose only two professional courses under this scheme.

Tuition Fee and Examination Fee

• The candidates should have completed the SSC course.
• They should be pursuing a professional course in an institution located in Maharashtra.

Professional Courses

• The candidates should have enrolled for a professional course and reside in a hostel.
• They should be a scholarship holder of the Government of India.

Rajarshri Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj

• The students should be in classes XI and XII.
• There is no income limit for the applicants of this scheme.
• They should secure a minimum of 75% in the SSC board exams.

For Disabled Students

• The candidates should be at least 40% disabled.
• They should pursue a course in a recognised institution.

Fee Reimbursements for Vocational Training

• The income limit should not exceed INR 8,00,000 per annum.
• They should enrol in a vocational course sponsored by the state/ central government/ department/ local body/ company or corporation.

• The candidates should have cleared the class X exam.

Vocational Education

• Besides permanent residents of Maharashtra, students residing in Maharashtra and Karnataka state border are also eligible to apply.
• The annual family income should not be more than INR 8,00,000.
• Candidates should be pursuing a course approved by the AICTE.
• They should have a gap of two years before enrolling on another course.
• General category students are also eligible.

Assistance to Junior Students

• This scheme is available to students in classes XI and XII.
• Only the candidates studying in Maharashtra can apply.
• The applicants should obtain a sanction letter from the DHE.

For Children of Ex-Servicemen

• The children and spouses of veterans can apply to the scheme.
• They should be studying in a government-aided institution.
• They should not be studying out of Maharashtra.

Eklavya Scholarship

• Candidates pursuing a law degree can apply to this scheme.
• Their family income should not exceed INR 75,000.
• Students of Arts/ Commerce should have obtained a minimum of 60%, and the Science students should secure at least 70% marks.

Open Merit Scholarship

• Students pursuing Science, Commerce, Arts, or Law can apply.

Scholarship for Mathematics /Physics

• The applicants should have secured 60% in Science, Physics and Maths subjects in the class XII exam.

Vidyaniketan Scholarship

• The candidates should have scored a minimum of 60% in the class X exam.
• They should have qualified from the state government Vidyanikethan.

Daxshina Adhichatra Scholarship

• Candidates should pursue an undergraduate degree from a non-agriculture college.

Research Adhichatra

• The candidates should hold a PG degree.
• They should have secured a minimum of 60% marks.

For Children of Freedom Fighter

• The children or spouses of freedom fighters can apply through this scheme.

Jawaharlal Nehru University

• Students of JNU can apply to this scheme.

Assistance to Senior Students

• Students of classes IX and XII can benefit from this scheme.

The DTE offers MahaDBT scholarship schemes to students pursuing a professional or technical course through the Centralised Admission Process (CAP). The eligibility criteria are as follows:

Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Shikshan Shulkh Shishyavrutti & Dr Panjabrao Deshmukh Vastigruh Nirvah Bhatta Yojna

• The candidates should not have an annual family income of more than INR 8,00,000.
• They should not have a gap in their education for more than two years.
• The applicants should have enrolled through the Centralised Admission Process (CAP).
• They should have more than 50% attendance.

Directorate of Medical Education and Research Rewards

The young medical aspirants will receive the following MahaDBT scholarship amount:

Fee Reimbursement

• The government will cover 50% of the fees, including tuition and development fees.

MahaDBT School Education and Sports Department

The department of school education and sports offers two schemes for students in junior college, and it is available to the domiciles of Maharashtra. Listed below are the eligibility criteria:

Open Merit for Junior College

• The students in classes XI and XII can apply.
• They should have obtained a minimum of 60% marks in the SSC exam.

For Economically Backward Class

• The candidates should have cleared the exam in one attempt.
• They should have secured at least 50% in the SSC board exam.

School Education and Sports Department Rewards

• Candidates should be pursuing a medical course.
• Their family income should be less than INR 8,00,000 per annum.

Dr Panjabrao Deshmukh

• Medical students with hostel admission in Aurangabad, Nagpur, Pune, or Mumbai can apply.
• Their parents/ guardians should be registered as labours.
• The annual family income should be less than INR 8,00,000

For Open Category Students

• Medical students belonging to the Open category can apply.
• They should not have a gap of two years or more.
• They should have obtained admission through the management quota.

Directorate of Technical Education Rewards

The selected candidates will receive the following benefits:

Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Shikshan Shulkh Shishyavrutti Yojna (EBC)

• The government will cover 50% of tuition and 50% of exam fees.

Dr Panjabrao Deshmukh Vastigruh Nirvah Bhatta Yojna (DTE)

• For Children of Registered Labor/ Alpabhudharak:
• Students in MMRDA / PMRDA / Aurangabad City / Nagpur City will receive INR 30,000.
• Those in other areas will receive INR 20,000.
• For Students with Annual Income Less than INR 8,00,000:
• Students in MMRDA / PMRDA / Aurangabad City / Nagpur City will receive INR 10,000.
• Those in other areas will receive INR 8,000.

For Open Category Students

• The government will provide the approved fees.

Minority Development Department

The state government offers financial aid to deserving candidates domiciled in the state and belonging to the minority community. The applicants should ensure the family income is not more than INR 8,00,000 per annum. Additionally, they should fulfill the following requirements:

Higher and Professional Courses (DTE)

• The students should have at least 50% attendance.
• They should have enrolled through CAP.
• The students should be pursuing a professional or technical course.

For Minority Students (DMER)

• Candidates should be pursuing a medical course affiliated with the Maharashtra University of Health Science in Nashik.

Minority Development Department Rewards

The minorities in the state will receive the following MahaDBT scholarship amount:

For Higher and Professional Courses (DTE)

• Up to INR 25,000 per annum or actual tuition fee (whichever is less).

For Minority Students (DMER)

• INR 25,000 or the total annual course fee (whichever is less).

How to Apply for MahaDBT Scholarship?

The Maharashtra government offers several post-matric scholarships through the MahaDBT portal. It's an online application launched for the permanent residents of Maharashtra. However, the applicants should have an aadhaar number to apply. The application for the MahaDBT scholarships involves four steps. They are:

1. Registration

3. Creating User Profile
4. Applying for MahaDBT Scholarship

The institute will send back the MahaDBT scholarship forms if there are errors. Hence, the candidates are requested to double-check the information before making the final submission. 

Step 1: MahaDBT Scholarship Registration

• The candidates should visit the official MahaDBT portal.
• Next, they should check on the post-matric scholarship button available on the right side of the screen.

• Following that, the applicants should click on the new applicant registration button.

• They should duly fill in the details and verify the OTP obtained by mail and mobile number.

• Lastly, they should click on the register button. 

Step 2 - MahaDBT Login

After successful registration, the candidates will obtain the MahaDBT login credentials. The system will automatically generate the credentials and send them to the registered mobile number and email ID. The candidates should note the MahaDBT login details for further use.

Step 3 - Creating User Profile

The candidates can log in to their portal and create the user profile after completing the MahaDBT scholarship login process:

• The candidates should duly fill in the details such as personal, domicile, academics, bank and others.
• They must click on the save button after filling in the details.

Step 4 - Apply for MahaDBT Scheme

• After creating the profile, the candidates can view a list of the MahaDBT scholarship schemes.
• They should select the desired scholarship and click on the apply for scheme button.
• After clicking on the scheme, they should upload the required documents and click submit to complete the application process.
