NIMCET Question Paper Pattern 2024

The National Institute of Technology MCA Common Entrance Test (NIMCET) is an entrance examination for MCA (Master in Computer Applications) courses in the National Institutes of Technology (NITs) across India. The exam will be conducted in offline mode for 2 hours. The exam will contain a total of 120 questions, and all the questions will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). There is a negative marking system, and the exam is for 480 marks. The marking system is discussed below. 

NIMCET 2024 Marking System

The marking scheme is based on NIMCET marks distribution. Marks are allotted as per the rules of negative marking set by the authorities. Candidates will have to keep note of the scheme and prepare and plan accordingly. The scheme is discussed in the points below.

• Every correct answer will be rewarded with full marks.
• 25% negative marks will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
• If more than one answer is provided for a question, then marks will be deducted.

Subject-Wise Breakdown of NIMCET 2024 Exam Pattern

NIMCET Mathematics Pattern

This section examines the basic mathematics understanding of the candidates in the exam. This section contains the highest number of questions when compared to the other sections, making it the most important section in the exam. This section consists of 50 questions, totaling 600 marks.

NIMCET Analytical Ability and Logical Reasoning Pattern

This section will examine the thinking skills, non-verbal skills, and logical analytic abilities of the candidate in the exam. It contains a total of 40 questions that total 240 marks.

NIMCET General English Pattern

The basic knowledge of the Grammar and Language of the candidate is tested in this section of NIMCET pattern. It contains 20 questions worth 120 marks.

NIMCET Computer Awareness Pattern

This section examines the candidate’s basic understanding of computer awareness in the exam. It is the section with the least amount of questions, i.e., 10 that carries 40 marks.
