Aspirants wondering how to change the JEE Main exam centre 2026 must read through this section. NTA provides an opportunity to candidates who wish to alter the exam centre before the exam.
The steps involved in changing the JEE Main centre are listed below:
- The first step to the JEE Main exam centre requires students to head to the official JEE Main website.
- Then the application form link will appear. Click on it.
- Then, update the specified rows with the credentials like application form, application no., password, and security pin in the area given. Click on ‘Sign in’.
- Once the window for correction appears, students can select to alter or modify data according to their needs.

How to Choose the JEE Main Exam Centre 2026?
Choosing an exam centre for the JEE Main 2026 is an important decision. It would be best if students opted for the centre that is near them. The conducting authority will provide them with options for selecting their centre.
Here are the steps to follow to select an exam centre:
- Step 1: While filling up the JEE Main application form, students will be given four exam centres in order of preference from the list of exam centres available.
- Step 2: They will be allotted centres according to their choice by NTA.
- Step 3: NTA provides the last slot of the exam in the very city if the particular centre has fewer than 30 students.
- Step 4: JEE Main 2026 will be conducted in CBT mode. The option of attempting the exam in Hindi and English will be available. Candidates can choose according to their preferences.
- Step 5: For Gujarat, Daman and Di,u and Dadra and Nagar Haveli, the medium of the question paper will be Hindi, English, and Gujarati.

Documents Permitted Inside the JEE Main Exam Centre 2026
The documents that aspirants are authorised to take inside the examination hall for the JEE Main 2026 exam are minimal and essential. All of them are listed below:
- The admit card is the most valuable document for the examination. Take a printout of the admit card from NTA's official website and carry it along.
- Carry one recent photograph (passport size). Students have to stick their photos on the attendance sheet.
- Additionally, they must carry one of their original photo identity documents. It can be a PAN card/ Driving License/ Voter ID/ Passport/E-Aadhaar Card/E-Aadhaar with a photograph/ Ration Holder Card with a photograph/ Class 12 admit card issued for the board examination with a photograph/ Passbook of a Bank with a Photograph.
- In case of physical disability, carry the PWD certificate issued by the authorised medical officer.
Forbidden Items Inside the JEE Main Exam Centre 2026
The following items are prohibited inside the JEE Main exam centres 2026. If students lose any of the items mentioned below, the organising authority will not take responsibility.
- Inside the examination centre, candidates cannot carry their mobile phones, earphones, microphones, or pagers.
- Any electronic device, like a watch, including electronic watches with a calculator, any metallic item, or electronic gadgets, calculator, slide rules, log tables, camera or tape recorder, is not permitted inside the examination premises.
- Food items are strictly prohibited inside the examination hall.
- Aspirants are not permitted to carry a geometry box/ pencil box, handbag, or purse.
- Any bills, stationery, or text material is not approved.
- Permission to carry any rough paper is not allowed. Under any circumstances, if students need one, the organising authority will provide it.

The JEE Main is one of the most commonly opted for admission tests when opting for Engineering. Every year, a toll of students appear for this exam. It is conducted session-wise.
