NEET MCC Counselling Choice Filling Rules

The Medical Counselling Committee has laid down a few rules to be followed during the NEET MCC Counselling choice filling process.

Rule 1: Colleges that are not on your choice list will not be assigned.

• The first rule is that medical colleges that are not on your college choice list will not be assigned. You can avoid being assigned to medical colleges that you do not want simply by not including them in your chosen list.

Rule 2: Common Preference List for All College Types and Quotas

• Many students apply to multiple types of colleges or quotas. For instance, government colleges and deemed universities. In such cases, ensure that your options are in the correct order. If you want to study at a reputable institution rather than a lower-ranked or newly established government medical college. 
• You should prioritize designated university colleges above low-ranking government colleges. Otherwise, you will be assigned to a medical college with a lesser rating. For example, if you are from Delhi, place the Delhi University or Indraprastha University quotas for Delhi medical colleges before adding other state medical colleges to the All India Quota.

Rule 3: No Choice Modification Allowed Following Choice Locking

• Once you have locked your college choices, you will be unable to add or order them. You will be able to download your choice list once the locking time has ended. Download, and save it for future reference. Even if you do not lock, the options will be automatically locked.

Rule 4: Check the Medical College Website for Correct Details

• MCC is not responsible for the information published on the MCC website regarding tuition costs, stipends, service bonds, and penalties. In fact, this year, MCC is not disclosing important information like as fees, reallocation fees, reimbursement days, and stipends. They request that you go to the college's website for further details.

Rule 5: No limit on the number of college choices

• There is no limit to the number of choices. Except for the colleges you do not intend to attend, include all other colleges. 

Rule 6: Fresh Choice Filling For All Rounds of Counselling

• Every round, you must start again with new selections. Before counselling, you will be given a seat matrix with vacant seats. You can fill in the selections again for the next round using the seat matrix and the previous round's choice list. So, make sure to get the choice list when the first round's choices are locked.

Rule 7: Use a desktop/laptop when accessing the MCC website

• Only use a desktop or laptop for choice filling. The user interface does not operate well on mobile screens.

Here are some tips candidates may find helpful during the NEET MCC counselling choice-filling process.

• Before selecting a medical institution, candidates must first determine its ranking. It is not worthwhile to choose a low-tier college because it lacks the necessary facilities as well as faculty and other resources.
• MCC offers NEET UG counselling for three courses: MBBS, BDS, and BSc Nursing. Along with the institutes, aspirants must carefully select their courses. They should also take care when selecting a college and course. For example, several member institutes offering BSc Nursing only accept female students. As a result, male candidates who choose such universities will lose their eligibility.
• When selecting universities in the NEET choice filling and locking rounds, students should check the previous year's NEET UG cutoff for those colleges to determine their chances of getting a seat at those institutes.
• When filling out a choice form, the order of preference should be determined by factors such as old AIIMS colleges, deemed universities, state universities, new AIIMS institutions, and other government colleges, with private colleges following that.

NEET MCC Counselling Choice Filling and Locking Process

To complete the NEET MCC counselling choice filling and locking process, candidates must follow the steps outlined below. Prior to that, candidates must complete the registration process and pay the registration cost for their respective category.

Step 1: Visit MCC's official website, mcc.nic.in.

Step 2: Click on the 'New Registration' link and then 'Sign in'. Enter NEET UG Roll Number, Password, and Security PIN.

Step 3: Click the 'Available Choices' link.

Step 4: When the candidate clicks the "Choice Filling" icon, the choices based on individual eligibility criteria are displayed in the left side basket, and the required choice is picked by clicking the button. The selected seats will be removed from the left basket and added to the right basket.

Step 5: Candidates must click on the 'Save & Continue' option.

The choice Interchange (Swapping) might be carried out by picking acceptable choices as the source and destination, allowing them to be swapped and reordered. If a candidate wishes to eliminate one or more selections, he or she can do so by clicking the corresponding box. 

Furthermore, if the candidate wishes to eliminate numerous selections at once, he or she can do so by clicking the appropriate boxes for deletion and confirming the same, ensuring that all undesired choices are deleted.

NEET MCC Counselling Choice Locking 

Only selecting a seat is insufficient to ensure that it is assigned. To finish the process, candidates must lock their choices. The NEET MCC counselling choice-locking process is described in the following steps:

• The options can be locked by clicking the Choice Lock Button and then confirming it.
• Choices once locked cannot be unlocked. As a result, candidates should exercise caution when making their choices, as those that exceed the allocated choice will be processed in the second round.
• If candidates fail to lock their choices, the options they have filled in will be automatically locked at 5:00 PM on the last date of locking.
• When you click the "Lock Choice" option (available only on notified dates), your provided choices will be displayed on the page, together with any restrictions that may apply to the choices you selected.
• During the locking procedure, candidates must input their password, and only then will the system lock their choices.
• After locking, applicants can print a list of locked selections, which includes the locking date and time, the computer's IP address, and the system-generated unique number.
• If a candidate logs in again after locking their choices, the locked choices will be displayed, and they cannot be edited or amended. The final seat allocation will be based on the locked options.
