Seats and Counseling for NEET 2025

There are almost 1 lakh MBBS seats, 27,868 BDS seats, 52,720 AYUSH seats, and 603 BVSc & AH seats available in medical-dental institutes across India. Here's the breakdown:

The NEET counseling procedure is divided into two parts:

15% All India Quota (AIQ) Counseling:
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) conducts this process for admission to government medical colleges, deemed universities, and central universities.

85% State Quota Counseling:
This is done by the respective state administrations for admission to government medical colleges and state-run dental institutes.

The NEET counseling process is usually held in October. The MCC and state authorities will disclose the exact dates. The NEET counseling procedure is typically conducted in four rounds:

• Round 1: This is the initial round of counseling for AIQ and Deemed Universities/Central Universities.
• Round 2: This is the second round of counseling for AIQ and Deemed/Central Universities.
• Mop-Up Round: This round is held to fill the remaining seats following Rounds 1 and 2 of AIQ counseling.

Stray Vacancy Round: This round is held to fill the remaining seats following the Mop-Up round.
