Just follow a few steps to retrieve your application number, which are very simple. Just keep in mind that you don't lose it again. If possible, note it down somewhere for further reference. The steps to retrieve the JEE Main application number are mentioned below:
- First of all, go to the official site of JEE Main 2023: jeemain.nta.nic.in
- Please search for the candidate login window, and click on it. Fill in the details needed for the application form.
- Then, click on the 'Only Registered Candidates Sign In.' In that box in the right-hand bottom corner, search for the option 'Forgot Application no.' Click on that.
- A new page will open with 'Find Application Number.'
- You will need to fill in the details such as Candidate Name, Father Name, Mother Name, Birth Date, and Security Pin.
- Fill up the above specifications. Then hit the 'Get Application Number' option.
- Once done, the screen will present the application number.

Recover JEE Main Password through Security Question
To recover the password through security questions, follow the simple steps mentioned below:
- Similar to obtaining the application number, visit the official site of the JEE Main.
- Please search for the candidate login window, and click on it. Fill out the JEE Main application form.
- Then, click on the 'Only Registered Candidates Sign In.' In that dialogue box just beneath the 'Sign In' option, look for another option, 'Forgot password.' Click on that.
- A new page will be generated with 'Options available for resetting your Password.'
- You can choose the option you are comfortable answering.
- Suppose you choose 'Using Security Question & its Answer you chose during Form filling' and press continue. In that case, a new page will open. Enter the following details:
- The application number.

After the application form is filled up and submitted properly, you can use the application number and enter the password to monitor the status of your form. Additionally, review your application form status from the 'status' tab. Either of the following will open:
- Received: you will get this if the application form is successfully submitted.
- Unsuccessful: only in case the application form is not submitted correctly/ incomplete/ rejected.

How to Correct the JEE Main Application Form?
The JEE Main application form correction is only available if you have already filled out the form and need to rectify some mistakes. Here are a few steps that are required to follow to correct the form:
- Head to the official site of the JEE Main.
- Search for the 'correction in JEE Main application form' choice. Click that.
- After that, enter the application number and password. Click submit.
- Then, click on 'application form correction particulars.'
- The correction page will open with instructions. Carefully read the instructions and then proceed with the correction of the application form.
- Once done, click on 'correct form application particulars.'
- Lastly, submit the form and press on pay fees if any are required.

NTA releases the dates to avail correction window. However, for every year under any circumstances you want to make changes regarding the category you want to apply to or alter the city, there are chances you may face additional fees. Added fees may include the following:
- Suppose you desire to change your application category from SC/ST/Girls/PwD to General/OBC-NCL. In that case, you need to pay the fee as structured for general candidates.
