What is the Samunnathi Scholarship?

The Vidya Samunnathi Scholarship is an initiative of  Kerala State Welfare Corporation for the Forward Communities Limited (KSWCFC) that provides financial assistance to the students pursuing studies from high school level to postgraduation level and belonging to the economically backward sections of the Forward communities in Kerala state. The KSWCFC facilitates educational loans at concessional rates of interest for the deserving students to pursue professional, graduate, postgraduate, and technical courses. The scholarship aims at helping the financially weaker non-reservation forward community students to complete their higher education and thus improve the educational status, living conditions, and all-round development of the state.

Samunnathi Scholarship Eligibility Criteria:

The Samunnathi scholarship is awarded to the meritorious and deserving candidates who are domicile of Kerala state. The list of courses eligible for the scholarship as well as other eligibility criteria are listed below:

  2. Higher Secondary Level
  3. Diploma Level
  4. Graduate Level
  5. Postgraduate Level
  6. CA/ ICWA/ CS Level
  7. MPhil and Ph.D. Level
  8. National Institute Level
  9. Coaching Assistance Level
  10. PSC/ UPSC/ SSC/ Bank 
  11. Civil Service Examination
  12. Medical/ Engineering Level

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The applicant should belong to a non-reservation forward community and should be a domicile of Kerala state.
  • He/ she should have a bank account in any of the recognized banks to avail of the scholarship amount.
  • The annual family income of the applicant should not exceed INR 2,00,000 per annum.
  • The students who applied for financial help in the previous year are not eligible to apply for the scholarship.
  • The candidates should choose their coaching centers to apply for the scholarship.

Samunnathi Scholarship Rewards and Benefits:

The Kerala Samunnathi Scholarship provides variable financial support to students pursuing different levels of study. The detailed scholarship benefits and the coaching assistance awarded to the selected students are given below:

High School Level

  • 22000 scholarships are provided each year.
  • Selected candidates get a scholarship amount of INR 2000 per annum.

2.

Higher Secondary Level

  • 14000 scholarships are provided each year.
  • Selected candidates get a scholarship amount of INR 3000 per annum.

3.

Graduation Level (Non-Professional)

  • 5000 scholarships are provided each year.
  • Selected candidates get a scholarship amount of INR 5000 per annum.

4.

Diploma/ Certificate Course

  • 1000 scholarships are provided each year.
  • Selected candidates get a scholarship amount of INR 6000 per annum.

Postgraduation Level (Non-Professional)

  • 2000 scholarships are provided each year.
  • Selected candidates get a scholarship amount of INR 6000 per annum.

6.

Graduation Level (Professional)

  • 3000 scholarships are provided each year.
  • Selected candidates get a scholarship amount of INR 7000 per annum.

7.

Postgraduation Level (Professional)

  • 1250 scholarships are provided each year.
  • Selected candidates get a scholarship amount of INR 8000 per annum.

CA/ CS/ ICWA

  • 100 scholarships are provided each year.
  • Selected candidates get a scholarship amount of INR 10,000 per annum.

9.

National Institute Level

  • 120 scholarships are provided each year.
  • Selected candidates get a scholarship amount of INR 50,000 per annum.

Coaching Assistance provided to the Sumannathi Scholars:

  1. The Samunnathi scholarship provides financial support to the economically backward students belonging to the forward communities. 
  2. The candidates undertaking training for various competitive exams such as Civil service/ Banking/ PSC coaching/ Medical/ Engineering Entrance coaching, etc.
  3. 840 students pursuing higher secondary education receive an amount of INR 10,000. The students who have completed their higher secondary in the last 2 years are also granted the scholarship.
  4. The candidates are eligible to apply for the Medical/ Engineering coaching assistance scheme.
  5. Financial aid of INR 6000 is awarded to 700 educated people who have acquired basic qualifications for the competitive exams of Bank, UPSC, and PSC.
  6. The students preparing for Civil Service examinations will receive a separate financial aid.
  7. An amount of INR 15,000 is given for preliminary exams.
  8. An amount of INR 25,000 is given for the main exams.
  9. An amount of INR 30,000 is granted for the interview.

Samunnathi Scholarship Application Process:

The Samunnathi Scholarship Application form is accessed and submitted online through the Samunnathi Scholarship portal. The step-by-step application process is given below:

  • Interested applicants should visit the KCWCFC online portal.
  • He/ she should click on the ‘Live Schemes’ section on the homepage and then click on the ‘Apply Online KCWCFC Scholarship’ link.
  • The candidate should read the entire scheme guideline carefully and then proceed to apply for a particular (New/ Existing) scholarship application.

Application Process for New User:

  1. The new user should click on the ‘Databank Registration’ for the Samunnathi Scholarship Registration.
  2. He/ she should enter the valid email ID or Mobile number to fill the online application form.
  3. The candidate should click on ‘Register’ to complete the Samunnathi Scholarship Online Registration Form.

Application Process for Existing User:

  • The existing user should log in to the Samunnathi Scholarship Login portal using the registered email address and password.
  • He/ she should fill in the Samunnathi Scholarship Application Form with correct and valid details.
  • The candidate should then upload scanned copies of all the required documents.
  • Finally, the applicant should submit the completed application form along with all the supporting documents to complete the application process.
  • A printout of the completed application should be taken for future reference.

Samunnathi Scholarship Documents Required:

The scanned copies of the important documents should be uploaded along with the Samunnathi Scholarship Application Form. The required documents are listed below:

  1. Institution certificate / Bonafide letter from the educational institution of the candidate
  2. Original Income certificate of the applicants’ parent/ guardian
  3. Copy of SSLC mark sheet and certificate
  4. Copy of the first page of the candidate’s bank passbook 
  5. Aadhar card photocopy
  6. ID card issued by the educational institution
  7. Residence proof of the candidate

Samunnathi Scholarship Results:

The Samunnathi scholarship result is published online on the KSWCFC website after 4-5 months of the scholarship examination. The result is announced as a merit list in PDF format. The step-wise procedure to check the result is given below:

  1. The candidates should visit the KCWCFC online portal.
  2. He/ she should click on the ‘Scheme 2019-20’ displayed under the ‘Beneficiaries’ menu on the homepage.
  3. A list of Vidya Samunnathi Merit Scholarship Courses is displayed on the screen.
  4. The candidate should click on the particular course to view the beneficiary list of scholarships.
  5. The ‘Merit Scholarship 2019-20 Beneficiary List’ for the particular course is displayed on the screen in PDF format.
  6. The students should check the merit list by entering the Application Number or Name.
