Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj Scholarship

The Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj scholarship is an initiative of the Department of Higher Education, Government of Maharashtra, for students belonging to economically weaker backgrounds to pursue their higher education. Under this scheme, up to 100% of the tuition and exam fees are covered for the professional course pursued by the candidate.

The Rajshree Shahu Maharaj scholarship documents required for the eligible students are the Domicile certificate, Annual Income certificate of the previous year, and many more. The Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj scholarship last date 2024 is March 31, 2024 (tentatively).

Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Scholarship Eligibility Criteria 2023-24

The Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj scholarship is provided to the students who are domicile of Maharashtra state. The other eligibility criteria to be fulfilled to apply for the scholarship are given below:

• The applicant should be a domicile of Maharashtra state or should belong to the border of Maharashtra and Karnataka.
• Studying in class 12 or passed the board exams to be eligible for this scholarship.
• Must belong to the Maratha community.
• They should be pursuing any professional/ non-professional course approved by the DHE at a Government-aided/ Non-government aided/ Partially aided/ Unaided/ Permanent Unaided college/ institution.
• The annual family income of the applicant should not exceed INR 8,00,000 from all sources.
• The candidate should have taken admission for the course through the general quota.
• Students pursuing part-time/ distance learning/ correspondence courses are not eligible to apply.
• Only the first 2 children of a family are eligible to apply for the scholarship.

Students pursuing education from different recognized institutions receive different benefits of tuition and exam fees coverage. The benefits offered by the Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj scholarship scheme are listed below: 

• Up to 100% tuition and exam fees.
• Over 605 courses such as Medical, Engineering, and other professional courses are covered under this scholarship scheme.
• More than 5 lakh students benefit from the scholarship every year.
• Students pursuing Professional courses will receive the following benefits:

• Students pursuing Professional courses get 50% of the exam fees.
• Students pursuing Non-Professional courses get 100% of the exam fees.
• Books and stationary allowance of INR 5000.
• Education expense of INR 5000.

Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Scholarship Application Process 2023-24

The Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj scholarship application form is accessed and submitted online. The step-wise application process is given below:

1. Visit the MahaDBT official portal for scholarship login.
2. Click on the ‘New Applicant Registration’ to initiate the registration process. 
3. Next, fill in all the required details and verify the email ID and mobile phone number to register.
4. Complete the Aadhar authentication process either through OTP or biometrics.
5. The applicants who opt for OTP authentication receive an OTP to their registered mobile number.
6. Then fill in all the details and complete the registration process.
7. Log in to the MahaDBT portal using the newly created Username and password.
8. The scholarship application is accessed, and the candidate should fill in all the details, such as personal details, communication details, academic details, etc, in the application form.
9. Finally, upload all the necessary documents along with the application and click ‘Submit’ to complete the application process.
10. Take a printout of the submitted application form for future reference.

• Domicile certificate 
• Annual Income certificate of the previous year authorized by the tehsildar
• CAP related document (for B.Ed, Law, MPed, BPed students)
• Gap related document (applicable in case of Gap)
• Family declaration certificate regarding the 2 children

Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Scholarship Terms and Conditions 2023-24

The terms and conditions for the Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj scholarship is given below.

• The candidates who have received the scholarship last year should apply for the renewal.
• The student should not have a gap of 2 years during the course.
• The candidate should attend every annual/ semester exam to be able to receive the scholarship benefits.
• The applicant should not be getting any scholarship/ stipend from any other sources during the course.
