LIC Scholarship 2024: Eligibility, Apply, Rewards

The LIC scholarship initiated by the Golden Jubilee Foundation under the LIC insurance corporation offers financial aid to deserving students from weaker economic backgrounds. The objective is to motivate students to pursue higher education without financial constraints. The LIC scholarship 2024 offers ten schemes to boys and girls who have passed their class 10th/12th examination. 

However, the students should have an educational degree from government or private affiliated colleges to receive the LIC scholarship amount of INR 20,000. Additionally, the scheme covers the technical and vocational courses taken at the Industrial Training Institutes (ITI) affiliated with the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT). The LIC scholarship last date 2024 is September 30, 2024 (tentatively).

LIC Scholarship Eligibility Criteria 2023-24

LIC scholarship has schemes for regular scholars and special female students aspiring to pursue class 10+2. The applicants should ensure they meet all the requirements before submitting the LIC scholarship online form. Listed below are the eligibility criteria:

For Regular Scholars

• Candidates should score at least 60% in their 12th exam.
• The annual family income of the applicant should not exceed INR 1,00,000 per annum.
• Candidates interested in pursuing higher studies in medicine, engineering, or any other field can apply for the LIC HFL Vidyadhan scholarship.
• The applicant willing to pursue a Diploma in any field or vocational courses from any government-recognized college can also apply.
• The students who have completed 10th and are willing to pursue vocational courses from a government-recognized college can apply for the LIC HFL Vidhyadhan scholarship. They have to score at least 60% marks, and their family income does not exceed INR 1,00,000 per annum.

For Special Girl Child Scholars

• The special girl child scheme under the LIC GJF scholarship is provided for two years to girls who have passed 10th and are willing to pursue 10+2.
• The applicant should have scored at least 60%, and her family income should not exceed INR 1,00,000 p.a.

LIC Scholarship Rewards and Benefits 2023-24

The LIC Jubilee scholarship is awarded to students from economically weak backgrounds. The corporation helps students pursue higher education by offering financial aid. The LIC scholarship amount received under different schemes is as follows:

For Regular Scholars

• A LIC scholarship amount of INR 20,000 p.a will be awarded in three quarterly instalments to all the selected candidates.
• The students will receive the LIC scholarship for the entire duration of the course.

For Special Girl Child Scholars

• A LIC scholarship amount of INR 10,000 p.a will be awarded in three quarterly instalments to the selected candidates.
• The LIC Golden Jubilee Foundation scholarship is offered for two years.

How to Apply for LIC Scholarship 2023-24?

Interested candidates should ensure they meet the eligibility criteria. They should submit an online application form for the LIC scholarship through the official website. Below are the details for LIC scholarship applications:

Step 1: The candidates should visit the LIC's official website. 

Step 2: They should scroll to the bottom of the LIC scholarship homepage and click on the "Golden Jubilee Foundation" link.

Step 3: Next, the candidate should click on the "Golden Jubilee Scholarship Scheme" link displayed on the right side of the screen.

Step 4: A detailed description of the Golden Jubilee LIC scholarship scheme is displayed on the screen.

Step 5: If eligible, the candidate should click on "LIC golden jubilee scholarship application form - apply online". 

Step 6: The applicant should fill in all the valid personal details, educational qualifications, and bank details in the LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship online form.

Step 7: The candidate will get an acknowledgement of the same to the email address mentioned in the application.

Step 8: They should provide a valid email address and phone number for further communications.

Step 9: The divisional office will contact the candidate for further correspondence.

Documents Required for the LIC Scholarship

The candidates should upload the necessary documents while submitting the LIC scholarship form PDF. Listed below are the required documents for the LIC Vidhyadhan scholarship:

• Bank account details and IFSC code
• Copy of cancelled cheque with the name of the beneficiary
• Income certificate along with supporting documents

Selection Criteria for LIC Scholarship

The panel selects the candidates purely based on merit. However, preference is given to applicants based on the ascending order of family income. Given below are the LIC scholarship selection criteria:

• The candidates should submit the LIC scholarship application form within the last date to avoid rejections.
• The corporation will prefer deserving candidates with the most diminutive family income over others.
• The LIC scholarship is not given to more than one applicant from the same family.
• To continue getting the scholarship through the course, the candidate should regularly attend the classes and should have scored at least 55% marks in professional courses.
• The candidates should secure at least 50% marks in other Arts/ Science/ Commerce graduation courses for the LIC scholarship for degree students.
• Any misconduct or violation of the terms and conditions will result in the cancellation of the LIC scholarship.
• The LIC Golden Jubilee scholarship 2024 regulations are subject to change at the discretion of the Board of Trustees.
• The foundation takes the initiative in developing a comprehensive system for the collection and disbursement of the LIC scholarship amount to the shortlisted students.
• The foundation also evaluates the LIC scholarship scheme at regular intervals.
