The Jindal scholarship is a merit-cum-means scholarship provided by the Sitaram Jindal Foundation. The program offers financial aid to underprivileged students aspiring to study higher. Therefore, those studying classes 11, 12, ITI, Diploma, Bachelor's, and Masters level can apply to the Sitaram Jindal Foundation scholarship scheme 2024 and can receive up to INR 3,200 every month.

The Jindal scholarship eligibility comprises students whose employed family income must not exceed INR 4,00,000. The foundation has not set the Jindal scholarship 2024 last date, as the online applications are open throughout the year.

Sitaram Jindal Foundation Scholarship Eligibility Criteria 2023-24

The students from the economically weak sections studying class 11 to those pursuing a postgraduate degree can apply to the program. Listed below are the Sitaram Jindal Foundation scholarship eligibility criteria:

  • The candidates' should not exceed the age limit of 30 years.
  • For an employed family, the annual family income of the applicant should not exceed INR 4,00,000.
  • For others, the annual family income of the candidate should not exceed INR 2,50,000.

 Further, the Sitaram Jindal Foundation scholarship eligibility criteria vary for different class levels. Tabulated below are the details of the requirements of different classes:

A - Classes 11 and 12

  • Applicants should be studying in the 11th or 12th grade.
  • Male candidates should score at least 65% in the previous qualifying exam.
  • Female candidates should score at least 60% in the previous qualifying exam.
  • Karnataka students should score at least 75% for boys and 70% for girls.
  • West Bengal students should score a minimum of 70% for boys and 65% for girls to be eligible for the Sitaram Jindal Foundation scholarship scheme.

B - ITI students

  • The candidate should be an ITI student from any private / government college.
  • Male applicants should have scored at least 50%, and female applicants should have scored 40% in the last qualifying examination.

C - Undergraduate Degree

  • The candidate should be pursuing a bachelor's degree in the field of agriculture, hospitality, etc.
  • Male applicants should have scored at least 60% and female applicants with 55% in the last qualifying examination.
  • Karnataka students should score at least 70% for boys and 65% for girls to be eligible.
  • West Bengal students should score a minimum of 65% for boys and 60% for girls to apply for the Sitaram Jindal foundation scholarship. 

C - Postgraduate Degree

  • The candidate should be studying a master's course.
  • Male applicants should have scored at least 65%, and female applicants should have at least 60% in the last qualifying examination.
  • Karnataka students should score at least 70% for boys and 65% for girls for the Sitaram Jindal foundation scholarship.

D - Diploma

  • The candidate should be studying a diploma course in agriculture, hospitality, nursing, pharmacy, etc.
  • Male applicants should have scored at least 60%, and female applicants scored 55% in the last qualifying examination.

E - Engineering and Medicine

  • Candidates pursuing an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in engineering or medicine (except MDS) are eligible for the Sitaram Jindal foundation scholarship.
  • Male applicants should have scored at least 70%, and female applicants should have scored 65% in the last qualifying examination.

 Note:

  • For all the physically challenged students, the eligibility percentage of marks is the minimum pass marks.
  • To continue receiving the Sitaram Jindal foundation scholarship 2024 benefits, the foundation will relax the percentage marks by 5%for renewal applicants.

D - Diploma

  • INR 1200 for girls
  • INR 1000 for boys

E - Engineering and Medicine

  • INR 2300 for girls pursuing engineering
  • INR 2000 for boys pursuing engineering
  • INR 3000 for girls pursuing medicine
  • INR 2500 for boys pursuing medicine
  • INR 3200 for girls pursuing a postgraduate degree in engineering or medicine
  • INR 2800 for boys pursuing a postgraduate degree in engineering or medicine

For Hostellers

  • INR 1200 for students studying ITI/ diploma/ UG/ PG courses
  • INR 1800 for students studying UG/ PG in engineering or medicine
