INSPIRE Scholarship 2024: Eligibility, Rewards, Apply

The INSPIRE scholarship is initiated by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) under the Government of India. The providers offer around 12,000 INSPIRE scholarships every year based on their merit. Candidates pursuing Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Basic Sciences and Natural Sciences can apply for the Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research - INSPIRE Scholarship for Higher Education (SHE).

To qualify for the scholarship students must be between 17 and 22 years of age and must have secured the top 1% position in the 12th-grade examination. The scholars can receive INSPIRE SHE scholarship benefits for a maximum of five years, provided they perform exceptionally well in their academics. The Inspire scholarship 2023-24 last date is December 31, 2024 (tentatively).

INSPIRE Scholarship Eligibility Criteria 2023-24

The candidates applying for the INSPIRE SHE scholarship should meet all the requirements to avoid rejections. Students pursuing an undergraduate and postgraduate degree in Natural and Basic Sciences can apply to the program. The details of the INSPIRE scholarship eligibility criteria are as follows:

• The candidate should be between 17 and 22 years old.
• The candidate should have secured the top 1% position in the 12th-grade examination.
• The candidates among the top 10,000 rank holders in the JEE exam and who have opted for Natural and Basic Sciences are eligible for the INSPIRE scholarship.
• The candidates should be admitted into the Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISER), National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), and Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Basic Sciences (DAE-CBS) at the University of Mumbai.
• The candidates from the KVPY (Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojna) who appeared for the National Talent Search Examination (NTSE), Olympiad medallists, and Jagadish Bose National Science Talent Search (JBNSTS) and pursuing a degree program in Natural/ Basic Sciences can also apply for the INSPIRE scholarship scheme.

INSPIRE Scholarship Amount 2023-24

The INSPIRE scholarship scheme award is segmented into two parts: one is an annual award, and the other is a summer project grant. Thus, the selected candidates can utilize the INSPIRE scholarship amount according to their requirements. The details of the INSPIRE scholarship awards are as follows:

• The DST rewards INR 80,000 to the selected students
• An annual INSPIRE scholarship amounting to INR 60,000 is provided at INR 5000 per month.
• The selected candidates will also receive an INSPIRE scholarship of INR 20,000 for a mandatory summer research project.

How to Apply for INSPIRE Scholarship?

Interested candidates can apply for the scholarship online through the INSPIRE scholarship official website. They should submit the applications within the DST INSPIRE scholarship 2024 last date. Read below to learn how to apply for the INSPIRE scholarship:

• The candidates should visit the online INSPIRE scholarship home page to register themselves for the INSPIRE scholarship.

• After logging in successfully, the candidate must fill in all the necessary details on the INSPIRE scholarship portal.
• Additionally, they should upload all the necessary documents.

• Finally, they can submit the INSPIRE scholarship 2024 application form.

Renewal of Inspire Scholarship

The INSPIRE scholarship renewal for the next season is based on the following factors:

• The renewal of the INSPIRE scholarship 2024 is only accepted if the candidate has displayed good academic performance in the exams as per the university norms and is recommended by the Head of the Institution.
• The performance of the candidate is analyzed before renewing the scholarship for the following tenure.
