MAT Exam Day Guidelines 2023: Instructions, Documents

MAT Exam Day Guidelines 2023 are to be followed by the candidates appearing for the Management Aptitude Test. The MAT examination is conducted in three modes i.e. Computer Based Test (CBT), Paper Based Test (PBT) and Internet Based Test (IBT).

While the CBT and PBT-based MAT tests are conducted at designated exam centres in IBT mode, candidates also have the option to take the test from home on any desktop or laptop with a camera. However, one has to follow certain guidelines prescribed by the AIMA against candidate impersonation, cheating and other malpractices. Essential Guidelines MAT Exam Day 2023 

As per the MAT Exam Day Guidelines 2023, the MAT admit card and photo ID are mandatory at the exam centre. Candidates must refer to the list of things to be kept in mind as a part of the MAT exam day guidelines 2023:

  • Check the location of the MAT exam centre allotted (mentioned on the admit card) at least 2-3 days before the exam date. The MAT exam is conducted between 10 am to 12:30 pm and the entry gates will be closed 15 minutes before the commencement of the exam.
  • Every candidate is given an individual reporting time at the MAT 2023 exam centre entry gate to avoid crowding. One should make sure to reach the MAT exam centre at the reporting time mentioned on the MAT 2023 admit card.
  • 2 colour printouts of the MAT 2023 admit card and an original copy of the photo ID should be carried to the MAT examination centre. The MAT 2023 admit card can be downloaded from the AIMA MAT website until the day of the exam. However, candidates are advised to download their admit cards as soon as they are released to check for errors and rectify the same in time.
  • It may also mandatory for candidates to wear a face mask before entry and throughout the MAT exam.
  • One should also carry drinking transparent water bottle.
  • All aspirants are required to maintain physical distance from each other and the staff at all times on the MAT 2023 exam day.
  • Personal belongings such as bags, mobile phones, watches, books, wallets, electronic gadgets, notebooks, etc are not allowed inside the exam centre.
  • As part of the stationary, candidates need to carry only a blue ballpoint pen for signing the attendance sheet. Students appearing for the MAT test in PBT mode must carry two pens to fill the OMR sheet.

Prohibited Actions on MAT Exam Day 2023 

The MAT (Management Aptitude Test) 2023 is a significant examination for those seeking admission to management programs. To ensure a successful experience on exam day, candidates should follow these guidelines:

  • The MAT 2023 invigilator will sign the MAT 2023 admit card of each candidate once the security check is done. No candidate should sign on their admit card before this process.
  • Avoid any kind of unfair practices inside the MAT exam centre. Any candidate found breaking the code of conduct will be strictly penalized.
  • Carrying rough sheet/sheets inside the MAT exam centre is strictly prohibited. Candidates appearing for the PBT mode exam will be provided with OMR sheets to answer all the questions.
  • Do not create an unnecessary hassle for the staff at the time of identification and frisking. Candidates found misbehaving may be barred from appearing for the MAT 2023 exam.
  • Do not carry any technical/electronic items such as mobile phones, earphones/headphones, calculators (basic/scientific) and wrist watch to the MAT exam centre as these things are strictly prohibited.
  • Do not take off your face mask or break any physical distancing rule while inside the exam centre. Candidates breaking any rule may be disqualified or penalised.

Documents to be Carried for MAT Exam 2023

It is mandatory for all candidates appearing for the MAT test to carry valid photo identification proof. Listed below are the documents that are considered valid photo ID proofs for MAT 2023:

  • Passport
  • Voter ID card
  • Aadhaar card
  • PAN card
  • Driving license
  • Employer ID card
  • College ID card

MAT Exam Day Guidelines 2023 for Special Needs Candidates

Candidates with disabilities (PwD) appearing for MAT 2023 may have specific requirements. Here are the guidelines for them:

  • PwD candidates can apply for accommodations, including extra time, if needed.
  • Provide necessary documentation to prove your disability.
  • The MAT conducting authority can provide a scribe for those who require assistance.
  • If a scribe is provided, candidates can meet with them a day before the exam.
  • PwD candidates can choose the examination mode that suits their needs, such as Braille, computer, print, or recorded answers.
  • Reach the exam center a day before to check any necessary devices and ensure a smooth experience on the exam day.
