Sports Scholarships

Erasmus Mundus Scholarship

Erasmus Mundus scholarship is provided by the European Union (E.U.) to encourage European and Non-European students to pursue higher education, training and sports activities in European countries. The sports scholarship offers additional financial support to candidates aspiring to pursue a full-time master's degree for two years. Multiple monetary rewards cover complete scholarship participation costs and other benefits.

Swarnim Gujarat Sports University Scholarship

The Swarnim Gujarat sports university scholarship is a university sports scholarship which provides multiple scholarship facilities. The sports scholarship eligibility criteria for Swarnim Gujarat sports university scholarships include students from SC/ ST/ OBC quota and minority communities who have secured at least 75% in their higher secondary exams. Students from economically lower backgrounds and whose parents have served in the military are eligible to apply for the sports scholarship program.

Rani Laxmi Bai Award

Rani Laxmi Bai award is conducted by the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of Uttar Pradesh. The sportswomen from Uttar Pradesh who should have been part of the state team for three years are eligible for this sports scholarship scheme in India. A cash prize of INR 2,00,000 and other benefits are sanctioned as rewards to the meritorious candidates.

Sir Edmund Hillary Scholarship

The University of Waikato launched the Sir Edmund Hillary scholarship for candidates who excel in sports or creative arts. This sports scholarship for 2023 is provided for students in India and New Zealand. A sports scholarship amount of $10,000 (INR 7,62,675) is granted to eligible candidates. The main objective is to financially support and provide career growth opportunities to the talented students who lead in sports, leadership, academics, and creative or performing arts.

ONGC Sports Scholarship

ONGC has been promoting sports and sponsors International and National events for a long time and supports financially weak sportspersons. A sports scholarship of INR 48,000 every year is granted to 500 general category students. Sports like cricket, chess, table tennis, athletics, badminton, volleyball, hockey, lawn tennis, football and shooting etc, are promoted in India by ONGC (Oil and Natural gas Corporation) by providing such sports scholarships and ample opportunities for the deserving applicants.

Sports Authority of India (SAI) and Netaji Subhas National Institute Of Sports (NSNIS), Patiala

Netaji Subhas National Institute of Sports is a sports institute in Patiala. It aims to promote and support deserving students to achieve their dreams and aspire for higher education. The State and National Level scholarships, scholarships for students and special scholarships for women, are categorised under the sports scholarship presented by the authorities. A reward of INR 6,600 per annum is granted to talented students under this sports scholarship scheme.

Reliance Foundation Youth Sports, Navi Mumbai

Reliance foundation youth sports is a sports scholarship provided to school and college students. This sports scholarship scheme was launched in 2015. The principal aim was to encourage leadership qualities and learn among youth in rural areas by using sports as a prime source. This sports scholarship motivates brilliant minded sports students to emerge as champions and do well in sports. A sports scholarship reward of upto INR 2,00,000 is given to the eligible candidates.

SRM University, Kattankulathur 

SRM University is one of India's topmost private universities that provides highly prestigious sports scholarships to students to motivate and support their extraordinary talent in sports. Around 108 students were awarded a sports scholarship in 2014, the most number of scholarships any university has ever given. Up to 50% of the tuition fee is waived as a sports scholarship reward under the SRM University scholarship.

Application Process for Sports Scholarships

Sports scholarship forms are available on different portals so that interested candidates can apply for different national sports and sports management scholarships 2023. The application process for the sports scholarships is simplified below:
