Post Matric Scholarship for ST/ SC/ Central OBC & Minority Students, Sikkim

The Post-matric scholarship for ST/ SC/ central OBC & minority students, Sikkim, is an initiative for the students belonging to the scheduled tribe, scheduled caste, and other backward classes. The Post-matric scholarship for S.T. students is an initiative for the students belonging to the S.T. category. The program aims to provide financial assistance to the students belonging to the S.T. community and those pursuing post matriculation courses from a recognized institution of India. Under this scholarship scheme, the central assistance is provided on a 100% basis over and above their 'committed liability'. This liability is exempted in North-Eastern states too. Here, approximately 55% of the beneficiaries are given to the girl students. Lastly, the family income of the candidates should not be more than INR 2.5 Lakh from all sources. The selected students will get multiple rewards of up to INR 1600 per annum

  • Post-Matric Scholarship for Students belonging to Minority Communities 

The post-matric scholarship for students belonging to minority communities is an initiative to provide financial assistance to underprivileged students of the minority category. Under this scholarship program, the students who have secured more than 50% marks are eligible to apply. The family income of the candidates should not be more than INR 2 Lakh from all sources. Here, 30% of scholarship is available for girls students. In case the girl students are not available, then the scholarship can be awarded to the boy students. The selected students will get multiple rewards up to INR 10,000 per annum.

  • Post-Matric Scholarship for S.C. Students 

The post-matric scholarship for the S.C. students is an initiative for the students belonging to the scheduled castes. The program aims to provide financial assistance to the students belonging to the S.C. community. The family income of the candidates should not be more than INR 2.5 Lakh from all sources.   • Post-Matric Scholarship for OBC Students

The post-matric scholarship for OBC students is an initiative for the students belonging to the OBC category and those pursuing post and pre-matriculate courses from a recognized institution of India. The program aims to provide financial assistance to the OBC category (Other Backward Class) students and those studying in classes I to X. The scholarship amount is funded in the ratio of 50:50 by the central and state government. The motive behind this scheme is to provide financial support to the parents of OBC students for their education so that the incidents of dropout from elementary to secondary is minimized. The family income of candidates should not be less than INR 1 Lakh per annum from all sources. The selected students will get multiple rewards

Pre-Matric Scholarship for Central OBC & Minority Students

  • Pre-Matric Scholarship for OBC Students 

The pre-matric scholarship for OBC students is available for the OBC category students and those who are studying in classes I to IX. The motive behind this scholarship is to provide financial support to the parents of the OBC community for the education of their dearest so that the incidents of dropout from elementary to secondary are minimized. This scheme is funded in a 50:50 ratio by the central and state government. Here, the family income of the candidates should not be more than INR 45,0000 per annum from all sources. The selected students will get multiple rewards of upto INR 5000 per annum

  • Pre-Matric Scholarship for Minority students 

The pre-matric scholarship for minority students is available for the economically weaker section of the minority society. The program aims to provide financial support to the weaker and poor sections of the minority community. The scheme was in ratio 75:25 by the central and state governments till 2013-14. The students studying in classes I to IX are eligible for this program. Under this scholarship program, the students who have secured more than 50% marks are eligible to apply, and the family income of the candidates should not be more than INR 1 Lakh from all sources. Also, 30% of scholarships are available for girls students. If the girl students are not available, then the scholarship can be awarded to the boy students. The selected students will get multiple rewards up to INR 600 per month

Merit-cum-means Based Scholarship to Students Belonging to Minority Communities

The Merit cum means based scholarship to students belonging to minority communities is an initiative for the students of the minority community and students who are pursuing technical professional courses. This scholarship is provided to students in India from government or private schools/colleges. The students who have secured 50% marks in the previous final exam can apply. Here, 30% of scholarship is available for girls students. If the girl students are not available, then the scholarship can be awarded to the boy students. The family income should not exceed INR 2.5 Lakh from all sources. Lastly, the students can apply online at scholarship.gov.in and submit their documents to the SJE & Welfare Department Govt. of Sikkim, Lumsey, Tadong.

Pre-Matric Scholarship for S.T. & S.C. Students, Sikkim

The newly introduced pre-matric scholarship for S.T. & S.C. students is available for the students studying in classes IX and X, and they should belong to the ST/SC community. The program's sole aim is to provide financial assistance to parents of SC/ST students for their education. The family income of the candidates should not be more than INR 2 Lakh from all sources. Upgradation of Merit of S.C. & S.T. Students

The upgradation of merit of S.C. & S.T. students is an initiative for the SC/ST community students who are studying in classes IX and XII.   • Upgradation of Merit of S.C. Students 

The upgradation of merit of S.C. students is available for the students belonging to the scheduled castes and those studying in classes IX and XII. Under this program, every year, 13 meritorious S.C. students are selected by the department based on their marks obtained in class VII. The sole motive behind this scheme is to provide coaching facilities to the students of the S.C. category. The coaching should start from class IX until the students have completed class XII. The selected students will get a packaging grade of INR 25,000 per year and for per students

  • Upgradation of Merit of S.T. Students  

The upgradation of merit of S.T. students is available for the students belonging to the scheduled tribe and for those studying in classes IX and XII. Under this program, every year, 4 meritorious S.T. students are selected by the department based on their marks obtained in class VII. The main motive behind this scheme is to provide coaching facilities to the students of the S.T. community. Here, the coaching class should work on removing deficiencies in school subjects and the special coaching for competitive examinations required for entering engineering & medicine. The coaching should start from class IX until the students have completed class XII. The selected students will get a packaging grade of INR 19, 500 per year per student. 

B.R. Ambedkar Post Matric Scholarship 

The Dr B.R Ambedkar post-matric scholarship is an initiative for the students belonging to the OBC category. The students studying in class XI and above are eligible to apply for this scholarship. The following are some degrees where the students can be active (Ph.D./ M.Phil./ Post-doctoral research). The students should be studying in the various government or private schools and for higher education in various schools/colleges within and outside the state. The family income of the candidates should not be more than INR 1 Lakh from all sources. The selected students will get multiple rewards.

How to Apply for Sikkim Scholarships?

National Scholarship Portal
