The NEST 2021 Exam Pattern is set by the organizing and coordinating bodies of the exam. Candidates should make sure to go through the NEST 2021 Exam Pattern thoroughly prior to starting the preparation for the same. Knowing the exam pattern will allow the candidates to get an overview of the types of questions asked in the exam and its distribution throughout the question paper. Hence they will be able to prepare accordingly and score high in the exam.
This section contains details of the pattern based on which NISER and UM-DAE CEBS will conduct the NEST 2021 exam.
Candidates should make all the possible use of the remaining time and starts preparing from the NEST exam Syllabus. The question paper will consist of 5 sections of objective type questions. Section 1 is the general section and consists of 30 marks. Section 2 to Section 5 each consists of 50 marks and will contain questions from Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics.
NEST Examination is a Computer-Based Test (CBT). There will be no negative marking in the General section. In the subject sections, for certain questions, there will be negative marking for incorrect answers. Some questions may have one or more correct answers for which marks can only be earned by marking all correct answers and no wrong answers.
