Architecture Aptitude Test 2023 (AAT 2023) is conducted by the Joint Admission Board of IIT JEE exam for admission into B.Arch programs are offered by IIT Kharagpur, IIT Varanasi (BHU), and IIT Roorkee only. About AAT Exam

The full form of AAT is the Architecture Aptitude Test. AAT is a national-level entrance examination IIT Roorkee and IIT Kharagpur conducted for admission into the Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) program.

For Admission into B. Arch, candidates must appear for AAT 2023 after qualifying for the JEE Advanced 2023 paper. The qualified candidates will get admission into 5-year B.Arch programs at the 7 IITs. This exam is the top priority for B.Arch aspirants. To clear AAT, students should focus on learning, designing, and drawing nuances and general knowledge.

Conducting Body: AAT 2023 will be conducted by IIT Guwahati, which changes yearly.

AAT 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who have cleared JEE Advanced will appear for the AAT 2023.

  • Education: Candidates must have passed a class 12 examination. The candidates appearing for their final exam are also eligible to apply.
  • Age Limit: Candidates must be born on or after Oct 1, 1997, and the SC/ ST/ PwD candidates must be born on or after Oct 1, 1992.

AAT 2023 Application Form

AAT 2023 exam application process start date, last date to submit the AAT application form, etc.,has been announced by IIT Guwahati. AAT application form 2023 was available on the official website from Jun 18- 19, 2023. Candidates had to register separately after JEE Advanced for AAT 2023.

AAT 2023 Registration

  • Candidates had to select AAT 2023 while filling out the JEE Advanced 2023 exam form.
  • There comes a 'Yes or No' checkbox in which candidates are asked if they want to appear for AAT.
  • A candidate had to click the 'Yes' option to appear for the AAT 2023 exam.
  • A candidate will be asked to fill in their choice of AAT exam centre. After filling in the AAT 2023 exam centre choice, click the 'Submit' button.

Registration Fee: The male candidates have to pay the registration fee of INR 2600, and the female candidates have to pay INR 1300 as a registration fee. Pay the fee using a debit card/ credit card/ net banking. Make sure to keep the receipt of the same for future reference. The table below has the AAT 2023 application fee for other categories.

Upload Documents: Candidates must upload scanned images of passport-size photographs, signatures, and other documents. The size of the photograph should be between 4 KB and 40 KB. The size of the signature should be between 1 KB and 30 KB. Make sure the quality of the documents is fine. The photograph should have a clear background with a focus on the face.

AAT 2023 Application Process

AAT 2023 application processcommenced on Jun 18, 2023. However, candidates can go through the steps for future reference. The application process for AAT 2023 is as follows.

  • Step 1: AAT Registration Through Aadhar Card: The use of Aadhaar by the candidates for JEE Advance 2023 will ensure the candidates’ details.
  • Step 2: Fill Online Application Form: Candidates can complete the online application form by entering authentication, examination, personal, academic, contact, and guardian details.
  • Step 3: Verification of Mobile Number and Email ID: Once the candidate has entered all the details mentioned above, an OTP will be sent to the registered mobile number and email ID for authentication.
  • Step 4: Upload the Documents: AAT candidates must upload a scanned copy of a recently taken passport size photograph and signature. The passport-size photo should have a clear background, proper lighting, and focus on the face.
  • Step 5: Payment of Registration Fee: The candidates should pay the registration fee category-wise through credit card/ debit card/ net banking/ UPI/ cash deposit (through e-challan at State Bank of India Branches only). If the candidates mention the wrong category, this will create a problem in processing the fee or can even cause cancellation of the AAT registration. So, the candidates must make sure to enter the correct details.
  • Step 6: AAT Slot Booking: The AAT exam is conducted in slots across all the centres. The candidate can choose the date, time, and exam centre on a first-come, first-serve basis.
  • Step 7: Print the Final Confirmation Page: Download and take a printout of the final confirmation page of the AAT 2023 application form.

AAT 2023 Admit Card

IIT Guwahati will not release any separate AAT admit card 2023. The registered candidates must present their JEE Advanced 2023 admit card at the exam centre for AAT 2023. Candidate must carry a government ID proof such as Voter ID, PAN Card, Aadhar Card, Driving License, Passport, and admit card. Candidates were advised to read the AAT 2023 admit card instructions carefully and follow them during the examination. 

In case of any discrepancy in the candidate's particulars or their photograph and signatures on the AAT JEE Advanced admit card and confirmation page, Candidates were advised to approach the conducting authority immediately.

Important Guidelines for AAT Exam Centre

  • Candidates must carry a valid ID proof, and the admit card to the exam centre without fail.
  • Candidates failing to carry a valid photo ID proof (Aadhaar/ Voter ID Card) with hall ticket/ admit card to the exam centre will not be allowed inside the exam hall.
  • Candidates must carry their supplies for sketching, geometry sets, and drawing colors (including watercolors) to the AAT 2023 exam centre.
  • The conducting body will not provide AAT 2023 candidates with any material for sketching, and borrowing will be strictly prohibited.
  • The items/ supplies the candidates take to the AAT exam hall will be screened.

AAT 2023 Counselling

Candidates who have cleared the AAT 2023 will be called for counselling. The candidates must produce all the documents at admission and pay the fee.

JoSAA Counselling (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) manages seat allotment and combined AAT counselling procedures for all the IITs, IIITs, NITs and other Government-Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs).
