B.E., batch of 2019

College study time is from 8 am to 6 pm. Mid sem and end sem exams are two main exams in a semester. Projects are supposed to be submitted in last year. Quality of education and method of teaching are quite good. It's a must have experience.

Different societies are formed depending upon interest. Main annual fest is Moksha. It's a three-day fest. Sports fest is also organized. These 4 years of college life teach many things useful in life.

Bachelor of Engineering [BE] (Computer Science), batch of 2012
  • Class timings are from 9:30 to 17:00 (Lunch break - 12:30 - 14:00).
  • The quality and method of teaching are classrooms based with 75% of mandatory attendance.
  • Exams are the mid-term, end-term and 8 semesters (4 years).
  • The overall experience is good at Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology, [NSIT] New Delhi.

Bachelor of Engineering [BE] (Electronics & Communication Engineering), batch of 2020

The quality of teaching is not up to the mark in Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology, according to me. But the teachers are helpful and provide notes and assignments on a regular basis.

The societies are the best part. There are over 100 societies for different aspects like acting, music, dance, debating, writing etc. in Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology

Bachelor of engineering in ece, batch of 2019
  • Nsit is known for it's student friendly curriculum. It aims at teaching students the required skills without undue pressure. Due to this, students have a lot of free time to explore, learn and try their hands on new technologies and skills. Societies are very active and and have been winning many inter-college events. Timings vary in the time frame of 8:30 Am to 6:30pm. The syllabus has been updated from the batch of 2016. I would say faculty is not very good. But some professors are very experienced and always available to help students with their projects. Many professors have international recognition and regularly publish journals. Students are free to take up projects of their choice. Every semester, on an average there are just 5 theory subjects and rest are practical subjects, hence making exams less hectic. But since all professors are not up to the mark, self study is the tool to excel in exams. Yet another thing that is not in favour of nsit is that classrooms are not smart and conventional method of teaching is prevalent. But one factor that neutralises all the short-comings is the junior-senior relationship. As per my observation it is better than even many IITs. So in Nsit, maximum learning takes place outside classrooms. Your seniors will benefit you more than your teachers.

Bachelor of Engineering [BE] (Electronics & Communication Engineering), batch of 2019
  • Well,to be in a coveted institute as NSIT is a matter of pride in itself ,but trust me life here is not a easy
  • Classes begin at 8:30 A.M for most of the days
  • While some teachers are good and are well qualified and they also instigate interest in their respective subjects, rest resort to frivolous teaching practices
  • So in NSIT you have to study hard for competition is at the zenith.Interested and enthusiastic students do get projects from teachers
  • NSIT is known for its exceptional placement records, thanks to proactive placement cell of the college with students bagging lucrative packages in highly acclaimed companies, like Google ,Samsung , Microsoft ,etc.,

What is the admission procedure for BE at NSIT

Asked By: Anonymous 01 May 2016

Hi Rohit,

1. Counselling Fee:

To participate in the admission counselling, you’ll have to deposit a Counselling Fee of Rs. 1000/- (in cash only) in any branch of Andhra Bank through a duly filled challan form available on the NSIT website. This amount is non-refundable, and is the same regardless of the category you belong to.

ONLY those students who fill out the form will be eligible to participate in the counselling process.

Sample Bank Challan Form

2. Online Registration:

- Once you pay the fee, log on to the NSIT Website and fill the registration form (which will be displayed in bold) with supposedly the following details: JEE Main Roll No., JEE Rank, Date of Birth and Candidate’s Name.

- After entering these four parameters, there’ll be another registration form where in you can fill all your personal details and a computer generated User ID and Password will be given to you.

- Now you have to take a print out of the final registration, get it attested by the Principal of School/College last attended or Gazetted Officer and produce it at the time of admission.

3. Filling of Choices (one of the most important parameters in the admission process):

- Registration Details: Registration Details are important for seat allotment and should be filled very carefully.  You can rectify/modify your mistake (if any) by using the “Edit Registration” option.

- Available Fill Choices: A list of branches will be provided and you can fill the branches of his/her choice in order of preference. It’s up to you to fill as many options as you want.

- Display Filled Choices: Choices entered by you will be displayed on a different form so that you can check the information entered earlier. You can lock your preferences by pressing the ‘Lock’ button, and then you have to give your password for confirmation.  Once the choices are locked, it cannot be unlocked and hence preferences of the branches cannot be changed. So, be very careful while filling your choices and ‘locking’ them.

- Take a print out of the filled choices; self attest it and produce it at the time of admission.

4. Declaration of Results:

- Once results are declared and your name features on the list of admitted candidates, you need to take a print out of the provisional allotment letter from the NSIT website and report at the NSIT campus on the allotted day with original documents and the institution fees.

- If you do not not report at the time of admission, your seat will be cancelled and you will not be granted admission whatsoever. So, for once in life, DON’T BE LATE!

- If you are admitted to a branch other than that of your desired choice you will be upgraded to your mentioned preference on the basis of JEE Main merit if seats are vacant at a later date.

- You can freeze your admission to whatever stream you have been allotted by requesting the admission committee. Of course, you’ve to give it in writing.

Documents Required:

  • Demand Draft/Pay Order in favor of Director, NSIT, New Delhi, payable at Delhi for payment of prescribed fee.
