A Medical Doctor degree is a higher postgraduate degree which is representative of one's specialty training. Specialty in one's own field is more beneficial both in terms of money and fame.
Students who have cleared their MD course can opt for further sub-specialization in their area of interest by opting for courses called D.M. or DNB (Diplomate of National Board), or M.Ch (Master of Chirurgie) which are of 3 years duration as well.
