What is NIRF? NIRF is a framework which ranks colleges and universities every year based on specific parameters. This method helps with the process of a respective university's or college's reputation and eases the decision-making for students.
NIRF full form is the National Institutional Ranking Framework, an initiative launched in 2015 with the approval of the Ministry of Education (earlier known as Ministry of Human Resource Development).
NIRF 2023 rankings were released on 5th June 2023. Stream-wise, IIT Madras in Engineering, AIIMS Delhi in Medical and IIM Ahmedabad in Management scored 1st position in the NIRF 2023.

What is NIRF?
The full form of NIRF is National Institutional Ranking Framework. As per the provided recommendations of the Core Committee of the Ministry of Education, various Universities and Colleges are ranked based on five essential parameters: Teaching, Learning and Resources, Research and Professional Practice, Graduation, Outcomes, Outreach and Inclusivity and Peer Perception.
The purpose of the NIRF framework is to give recognition to Universities and Colleges across India and help students by making the process of choosing colleges easy. NIRF India aims to help students determine which colleges are best suitable for them and the field they want to study by ranking the Universities and Colleges every year.
NIRF Ranking Criteria
The NIRF ranking is done based on these below-mentioned five NIRF parameters, which eventually add value to every university and college by providing fair recognition, which helps the candidates to choose what is best for them.
The NIRF colleges and the other 12 categories are analyzed for ranking and scoring purposes.
