Christian Medical College, [CMC] Vellore Overview

The institute is affiliated with the Tamil Nadu Dr.MGR Medical University. Earlier the college was affiliated to the University of Madras, later on, it was affiliated with Tamil Nadu Dr.M.G.R. Medical University. Christian Medical College Hostel Details

Government Kilpauk Medical College Eligibility Criteria

The college has set up certain criteria to be met and fulfilled by the candidates in order to be eligible for the applied program. The detailed description of the eligibility criteria follows,

Course Eligibility
  • The candidate should have passed the Higher Secondary examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with a minimum aggregate of at least 50% marks.
  • The candidate should have a valid UG-NEET score.
B.Sc Nursing
  • Candidates should have passed the qualifying examination after a period of 12 years of schooling/10+2 years in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology /(Botany and Zoology) and English individually from any recognised Board obtaining a minimum of 45% aggregate marks in PCB at the qualifying examination. There is 5% relaxation in PCB aggregate marks for admission of SC/ST candidates.
  • Candidates should have passed in all subjects of the qualifying examinations (10 +2) from recognized board under AISSSCE/ CBSE/ ICSE/ SSCE /HSCE or any other equivalent examinations in one and the same attempt.
  • Candidate should have completed the age of 17. The maximum age limit is 30 years and is relaxed up to 35 years for SC/ST candidates.
  • Only unmarried women are eligible to apply.
  • Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary School Examination under vocational stream are not eligible to join BSc Nursing Programme.
B.Sc (AHS )
  • Candidates should have passed the Higher Secondary Certificate Examination (Academic) conducted by the Tamil Nadu State Board or any other equivalent examination with the following subjects: English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany and Zoology).
  • The candidate should fall in between the age limit of 17 to 40.
  • Age limit for BASLP course alone is up to 25 years.
Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery
  • Pass at +2 level preferably Science with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany and Zoology) with minimum of 40% aggregate and English individually.
  • Age limit Between 17–35 years by 31st December in the year of admission. Marital Status Only unmarried men and women are eligible to apply.

AHS PG Diploma
  • BSc with English and any Science subject as the main subject.
  • Employed professionals in the healthcare industry, holding an MBBS degree/ Integrated First Degree of BITS or its equivalent with at least 60% aggregate marks, and minimum one year of relevant work experience are eligible to apply to this programme.
MS Bioengineering
  • All aspiring candidates should have an undergraduate degree in engineering, preferably Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Computer Science or equivalent.
  • All applicants should have written the Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering (GATE) within the last 5 years, in a relevant engineering subject.
M.Tech Clinical Engineering

Government Kilpauk Medical College Admission

The college offers admission for its prospective students based on merit only. The candidates admission is purely decided by their performance in the qualifying examination or entrance test only and no recommendation is entertained. The candidates are also advised to not entrust any fraudulent agencies as the college have contact with none as such. The application form for the admission is available only on the official college website which shall be downloaded by the applying eligible candidates. CMC does not conduct any separate entrance examination for admission in MBBS and BDS programs. The admission to the offered programs are purely based on scores obtained in the UG-NEET and PG- NEET examinations.



CMC Vellore Cut Off:

The internal exam conducted by the college as well as on the scores secured by students in NEET is the basis of the CMC Vellore cut-off. The basic eligibility criteria to appear in either is 40% in their 12th exam.

Christian Medical College, Vellore, Tamil Nadu conducts the CMC Vellore entrance examination for admission of aspiring candidates into various post-graduation diploma and medical degree courses. CMC offers courses in UG / PG / Diploma courses to the students.

Post the declaration of cut off, students can appear for counseling by visiting the Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Tamil Nadu, and registering themselves. The counseling will be undertaken in 2 rounds each for government and private colleges. Students will be called for the same according to the marks scored in the exam.
