Teaching quality is excellent compared to the IITS. Overall experience is very good for me. It's atmosphere is excellent. I am very proud that I am a student of Jadavpur University.
Fees are less than your pocket money. Fees are very less except IT which is about 20000 thousand
Don't talk about placement, placements are not only good, it's excellent. Jadavpur University is compared to the IITS. Many big companies come here for placements. So, you don't need to worry about placement, just focus on your study.
Admission at Jadavpur University is done through WBJEE exam ( mainly). But there are 10% seats which are for jee-main candidates. You have to give WBJEE exam which conducted by WBJEE board every year. You have to pass your 12th with 60% in PCM. The cutoff for b.tech below 2000. But if you want to a good branch then you have to work more on WBJEE exam.
The eligibility criteria for students is to pass 12th grade with the good marks and WBJEE is the entrance exam to get the admission. Typical cutoffs for top Engineering streams is 1600.
Companies like UOP, Microsoft, Adobe, Google, BPCL, HPCL, Deloitte, Pricewaterhouse Coopers, RIL, TATA, Maruti Suzuki, Rolls Royce, Enfield, CESC, GE, Siemens etc come for the placements. Average salary package is INR 5 lakhs per annum. Alumni network is good.
The course fee is INR 2,500 per year. Scholarships are available for meritorious students.
The daily routine is good. Quality of teaching is fair. Teachers impart knowledge both by giving presentations or using the following board work as per need. Overall experience has been good.
Two hostels are there. Hostel facilities are fair and the rooms are just to be expected in a government engineering college. Foo...
