Exams are held at the end of each semester and assignments are given by some of the professors. The quality of the professors is good. But, one has to attend the classes for getting the notes. One important thing I would like to mention is, the questions asked in the semester examination comes directly from the notes given by the professors. My overall experience in college is really good. One thing about Jadavpur University is that one will find better peer groups, and thus, the level of competition among the students is also very high.

The Fourth year is for Industrial Training of 6 months and the university has the good name in the architecture industry, hence internships are not tough to find. There are no official job placements for the stream of Architecture, however, depending on your portfolio, finding jobs is comparatively easy due to the vast and well-connected alumni network wherein some of the alumni are well known and respected personalities in the industry.
Jadavpur University is one of the finest and top universities in eastern India and the number one ranked university in West Bengal. It is ranked 6th among the architecture schools in India as per some of the reports. To be eligible to apply for architecture in this university, you have to be a student of science in your higher secondary studies. Post that, you have to apply for either Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains Paper 2 or a combination of West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam (WBJEE) plus National Aptitude Test for Architecture (NATA). It is preferable to apply for WBJEE and NATA because the seats for this combination are higher in number. The overall acceptance is of 40 students, most through WBJEE and NATA. the cutoffs are around 100 in NATA combined with a rank within 2500 in WBJEE.
