Heritage Institute of Technology Overview

Heritage Institute of Technology was set up in 2001 by Kalyan Bharti Trust. It is popularly known as HITK or HIT and is a private autonomous engineering college in Anandapur, Kolkata. The six wings of the Trust together constitute an oasis of learning and have, over the years, carved a niche for themselves among academicians, faculty, students and society, in general. HIT admissions are done on the basis of marks scored in WBJEE, JEE Mains, GATE, PGET & JECA.

  • August 25, 2022: Students in B.Tech 2nd year who want to change the stream can apply till August 29, 2022.
  • August 25, 2022: B.Tech 2nd and 4th Even semester examination 2022 results are declared on August 24, 2022.

The institution mainly offers three programmes, B.Tech, M.Tech, and MCA. The B.Tech programme is a four-year course with 9 specializations while the M.Tech is a two-year course with 7 specializations. Admissions to these courses are entrance based. Besides educational initiatives, Kalyan Bharti Trust carries out its social responsibilities through SURYAKIRAN & KALYANI. ‘Suryakiran’ is engaged in spreading education to the disadvantaged children of the neighbourhood, while ‘Kalyani’, a charitable health-care centre, provides basic medical facilities to the poor & needy. The institute has received the ‘Most Preferred Engineering Institute of 2020’ award.

Heritage Institute of Technology admission 2022-23 is completed for almost all the courses. Admissions to B.Tech programmes are based on candidates JEE Main/ WBJEE scores, admission to the M.Tech program candidates are required to qualify for PGET/ GATE, and to secure admission to MCA, candidates must have a valid score in JECA conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board. Admissions are based on the Heritage Institute of Technology cutoff. It also depends upon the Heritage Institute of Technology's ranking.

Heritage Institute of Technology has set up different eligibility criteria to be fulfilled by the candidates in order to secure admission to the respective programmes. Some of the courses with their eligibility criteria are given below

B.Tech Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidates must have passed 10+2 with 45% marks (40% marks for SC/ST/OBC/PWD) in aggregate in PCM or equivalent.

  •  The candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with Mathematics as one of the compulsory subjects at the 10+2 level or at the graduate level with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks. on an average in the graduation level.

I have done two online internships from IICHE and one offline internship at Haldia Petrochemicals Limited (HPL). Key companies that hire from our college are Cognizant, TCS, Capgemini, TCS. Average salary figure is 5 to 6 LPA and highest is 12 LPA.

Per year course fee is Rs.1,00,000. Scholarship options are available for economically backward students who can fulfil the admission criteria. 10% students can get the scholarship. Loans are needed for some students. They can get it from banks like SBI, Bank of Baroda.
