Placements and Internships

3

Placements depend upon what you do and learn in the 4 years of college. Maintain a CGPA above 7.0 and you are safe. Also, choose your clubs and committees wisely (I suggest Placement committee). Be in the good books of your professors. At last, it all depends upon your hard work and knowledge. A person with 8 or 9 pointer CGPA, may not get placed at a higher package, but a 7.5 pointer may get placed at a relatively higher package, because the recruiter wants a knowledgeable and efficient employee and not a crammer. Average packages are 3-5 Lakhs PA, however, any student with a master degree gets 5-7 Lakhs PA on an average. The Placement Cell is working hard to bring more companies offering better packages every year. The Alumni network, I think I don't need to stress much. It's really good. Every year, there is an Alumni meeting.

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

4.5

Infrastructure is awesome. Don't believe me? Go and checkout yourself. Amity Institute of Biotechnology, block J3, Amity university campus, Noida. The library is really, really awesome. AmityWiFi is decent. Honestly speaking, I am a day scholar, so I don't have much idea of the hostels. There are separate hostels for boys and girls and AC and Non AC hostels. The food is okay according to most people, but it is very healthy and light according to me. Mama Mia, Dominoes, Subway, Cafe Coffee Day, Olympia, cafeteria, Dosa plaza.. every taste is there to relax your taste buds. Basic lunch and dinner are not very tasty as already mentioned but are okay. 35 per meal, consisting of Dal, sabzi, 4 chapatis and rice. PGs are not recommended because the good boys become spoilt brats there.

Entrance Exams and Admissions

Anyone having a percentage in 12th above 75% (PCB) can apply for the course. However, those with 92% (PCB) or more are awarded scholarships. You have to apply for the AmityJEE, and choose PCB. The chances of admission are higher during initial periods, because once the seats get filled up, the admissions are closed.

Academics and Faculty

4

The daily routine is really hectic, exception being Thursdays. Like, I don't get any free slot on Fridays and have to study continuously from 10:15AM to 5:15 PM. Now, that is really, really hectic. Presentations, projects, assignments add to the load. But, I manage them somehow, and also learn management techniques. I submit all my work on time, maintaining an attendance of above 90% in most of he subjects. Yes, attendance is a big issue. Attendance below 75% will get you debarred in that particular subject. Most of the faculties have good knowledge of their subjects, it's just that, you have to set yourself different from others in a positive manner. Some irritating faculties can be avoided. Projectors are also installed in every lecture hall (classrooms).Air-conditioned campus and classrooms. Overall, if you think that at Amity, you'll have fun and your life would be like The actors or actresses of Karan Johar's Student of the Year, you will surely curse yourself. Just like other colleges, you have to work your ass off, to reach somewhere.

Fees and Scholarships

1.5

This is where the whole problem arises. The fee is really high for a middle class family boy. But, if you have an aim, and you are ready to work day an night to reach that goal, then there's no problem. I am saying this because, any college of Amity's repute, has somewhat similar fee pattern. My parents took a loan from Allahabad Bank. They have a branch in the campus itself. I am working hard to make my mark and stand out from the crowd. The fees is approximately 1.20 Lakhs per semester, i.e. 2.40 Lakhs per year.

Clubs and Associations

4.5

Student societies are numerous. I am in the Placement committee. There are Logistics, Hospitality committee, Tech committee to name some. I am in Biosciences club, and there are environment club, tech club etc. Join the one which suits most of your goals and your nature. There are events that take place every Thursday after 2:00PM. However, the major events are, in which I suggest you to participate in, Sangathan, Convocation, Conferences, ICEL and of course, the Amity Youth Fest.

Academics & Faculty : The daily classes commence from 9:15 am to 5:15 pm, with each of the classes having a duration of 55 minutes and varying from the courses, the lunch break is provided, and also there is a half-day, once a week (mostly on Thursdays). The method and quality of teaching vary from the faculty assigned to the students, these two play a big factor in the quality of the education. The overall experience of the college on a personal level is like a roller coaster ride on a philosophical level and on a professional level, it is a great opportunity to create a network and use the university's facilities for self-improvement.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : Eligibility criteria were to be a science student. Amity is one of the very few colleges who offer BTech biotech to non-math background students. Being a PCB student and always having hated math, I didn't find it challenging here as the teachers start with basics and are great at their job.
