MIT College of Food Technology is one of the constituent units of MIT Art, Design and Technology University, Pune. The institute was established in the year 2006. It has emerged as a center of excellence in education and research in the discipline of food science and technology. The need-based infrastructure, well-equipped laboratories, comfort base nicely furnished classrooms, franchise base pilot processing plants are the major strengths of the institution which helps in maintaining the environment for the study.  

The College has a team of well qualified, skilled, and expertise enriched teaching faculties, self-commitment oriented, customized intuitional ownership driven and hardworking non-teaching staff responsible for providing a vibrant and eco-friendly working atmosphere helps in the development of the institution. The skilled and experienced teaching faculties have laid down a foundation that aims at the career development of students.  The institute is focused to develop need base and globally competitive entrepreneurship.

MITCFT courses include an undergraduate program in Food Technology which is a four years degree course. The Institution ensures the development of skilled and expert human resources, provision of a rational technology base solution for solving the critical problems of the corporate sector, and commitment to the social and national development. 

The college of food technology is focused on its quality study which is helping in the development of its own brand and destination on the national map of educational institutions. MIT College of Food Technology Eligibility Criteria:

The college has a total of three courses in the field of engineering. The eligibility criteria for each course is mentioned below:




  • The Candidate should have passed 10+2 or its equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English, and Mathematics from a recognized board with 50% aggregate marks
  • The candidate should have qualified MH-CET or must have obtained a score in JEE Mains or any Other State CET conducted by the Competent Authority


  • Candidates must have completed B.Tech in Food Science/ Food Technology from a recognized board
  • Candidate must have appeared in GATE / ICAR / MCAER Entrance Exam

Ph.D. [Food Technology]

  • Candidate must have completed a Master’s Degree in Food Science / Food Technology with the prerequisite of four years B. Tech./ Equivalent degree program, with a minimum of 70% of marks in aggregate or it's equivalent
  • 5% relaxation will be given for reserved category students
  • NET/ SET/ GATE Qualifying students will be preferred more
