About College of Engineering, [COE] Pune

College of Engineering, Pune is an autonomous institute which implies that the college has the freedom to set its own curriculum and manage its own finances. It is one of the top technical colleges in India. It is a Multi-disciplinary Engineering Institution with the Departments in the field of Science and Engineering. Two new classes, an Agricultural class and a Forest class, were added to the college in 1879, and the name of the college was changed from " The Poona Civil Engineering College " to " The College of Science".
The College has received approval from the All India Council for Technical Education [AICTE]. It also has sanction from the National Board of Accreditation [NBA]. It offers various nine undergraduate and twenty-three postgraduate programmes and has more than 3200 students enrolled in its various courses. The college focuses on providing a healthy learning environment for the overall development of the students. The COE Placements cell provides the students with excellent placement opportunities.

Campus Festivals:

  • College of Engineering, Pune offers a vibrant campus life.
  • MindSpark is the technical festival of the college organised by the students annually. It is one of the best technical festivals in the country.
  • Zest, is the annual sports festival of CoEP in which around 70 colleges participate.
  • Another festival is Regatta is the 88 years old annual show in which the students demonstrate the use of various boats such as kayaks, sculls, etc.
  • In the fest named "Annual Social Gathering" the students get a chance to showcase their cultural skills like singing, acting or dancing.


  • The Astronomy Club is for the astro-enthusiasts.
  • The Boat Club Quiz Club is for the quizzing enthusiasts to “pick each others’ brains”.
  • The Debating Club of CoEP has separate groups for Marathi and English.
  • The Robot Study-Circle is the robotics club of CoEP. 
  • The club for budding entrepreneurs is E-Cell - the Entrepreneurship Club.
  • Janeev Club is for promoting awareness about not just the environment but also about the social development of the less fortunate.
  • HAM Club conducts workshops in CoEP as well as in other colleges, apart from providing the technical link during the college events.
  • For all the history enthusiasts, CoEP has it’s History Club. It conducts a week-long lecture series which witnessed talks by eminent personalities.
  • The latest addition to the many clubs of CoEP is Aero Zealous, the club for RC plane enthusiasts.

Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Mechanical Engineering), batch of 2020

Daily college is from 10am to 5pm Quality of teaching is much better than other colleges. There is good and supporting teaching and non teaching staff. Good lab facilities


There are 32 official clubs in college including technical and non technical clubs Mindspark is main technical fest. Zest is the annual sports event conducted by college. And regatta is boat festival held in march every year on the bank on mula-mutha river

B.Tech / BE

  • The Applicant must have passed (10+2) or Equivalent with PCM, from a recognized University.
  • The Applicant must have a valid JEE rank.

M.Tech /ME

  • The Applicant must have a bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering from a recognized University.
  • The Applicant must have secured a minimum of 50% in their graduate degree.
  • The Applicant must have a valid GATE score.

PG Diploma

candidates should have Bachelor’s Degree in Relevant Stream.
PhD candidates should have Master’s Degree/ M.Phil with minimum 55% marks in aggregate.
