The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released class 12 practical exam dates for regular and winter-bound schools. Regular schools will conduct the CBSE class 12 practical exams, projects, and internal assessment exams from 2nd January 2023 to 14th January 2023. For winter-bound schools, the CBSE class 12 practical exams commenced on 15th November 2022 and concluded on 14th December 2022. Check toppers time table for class 12th here.

CBSE Class 12 Practical Exam - Important Guidelines
CBSE also announced guidelines for how practical exams, projects, and internal assessments should be conducted for winter-bound schools. Candidates can refer to the following instructions released by the board.
A) Schools are responsible for creating the final list of applicants and ensuring that students from the schools can only take the CBSE class 12 practical exam, project, or internal assessment if their name has been submitted to the board in the online LOC.
B) The board has instructed CBSE schools to contact the regional office to schedule appointments for external examiners and observers, ensure that exams are finished on time, and send answer books and award lists to regional offices.

CBSE Class 12 Theory Exam 2023 Marking Scheme
There will be only one term or one board examination this academic year (as was the norm earlier). The final examination will cover the syllabus (as per the CBSE Curriculum 2023). The CBSE class 12 exam pattern, however, has changed.
For CBSE class 12 board exams 2023, question papers would comprise -
- 20% MCQs or objective questions.
- 30% would be competency-based questions.
- The remaining 50% would constitute the subjective or short/long answer questions.
CBSE Class 12 Passing Criteria
The passing criteria for CBSE class 12 are the same as before. A student has to score 33% marks separately in theory and practical papers. Check CBSE passing marks here.
- The aggregate marks scored also have to be 33% of the total.
- If a student obtains 33% marks in aggregate but does not score 33% in one of the subjects, they will have to sit for the compartment exam.
- The total consists of marks obtained in both theory and practical papers.
- Grace marks are awarded on a scale of two to five.
