ISC Class 11 English Literature Project Work (Paper II)

Along with the theory syllabus of class 11th English Literature, candidates will be evaluated on the basis of project work worth 20 marks. The project component will comprise an evaluation of the student’s writing skills, for which only an internal assessment will take place. The aim is to bring out the authentic and unique perspectives of students on poems/drama/short stories.

The written assignment that candidates need to submit should be around 1000-1500 words and must be presented in the following way.

1. The written assignment should consist of a title in question form, allowing the student to explore the short story/poem/drama comprehensively.
2. The below-mentioned structure must be followed:

• Introduction: should explain the title, the purpose of selecting the text, a short explanation of how the student aims to interpret the text selected & literary sources utilised in the procedure.
• Main body: must involve well-organised & systematic treatment of the question along with relevant sub-headings.
• Conclusion: should summarise the points covered in the main body in detail.

ISC Class 12 English Literature Project Work (Paper II)

The curriculum of ISC class 12 English Literature will include a project assessment of 20 marks. Both the subject teacher and the council-approved visiting examiner will evaluate students for 10 marks each. The project work requires candidates to work on a 1000-1500 word writing assignment based on short stories/poems/drama. Here is how students should go about the structure of the assignment.

1. The title of the assignment should be written in question form so that the candidate can analyse the drama/poem/short story extensively.
2. The written assignment should be presented as follows: 

• Introduction: must provide the explanation of the title, the aim of choosing the particular title, and how the candidate plans to interpret the selected title & other literary materials.
• Main body: should give an answer to the question in a well-structured manner and include suitable sub-headings. 
• Conclusion: the major points covered in the main body must be summarised here in detail.

Note: The texts that are reviewed by students in class 11th project work must not be taken up in class 12th.
