Rajiv Gandhi National fellowship 2022 is a fellowship provided by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment for Scheduled Caste and the Ministry of Tribal Affairs for Scheduled Tribe. Rajiv Gandhi National fellowship for SC-ST students is for those who want to pursue M.Phil/PhD degrees without any financial hurdles.

Eligibility Criteria

Rajiv Gandhi National fellowship for SC ST candidates 2022 is only for regular students of colleges or universities. Therefore, before applying for this fellowship, students must carefully review the below Rajiv Gandhi National fellowship eligibility criteria.

  • Only SC/ ST applicants are eligible for this fellowship.
  • Applicants must pass their postgraduate exams.
  • Applicants must register for full-time M.Phil/ Ph. D. degrees under UGC.

Rewards

Selected candidates are given varying amounts depending upon the UGC Rajiv Gandhi National fellowship. The Junior Research Fellow (JRF) and Senior Research Fellow (SRF) receive different Rajiv Gandhi National fellowship amounts and other benefits. Rajiv Gandhi National fellowship for OBC candidates is also applicable. The following table describes the rewards given to students.

RGNF JRF will receive an amount of INR 25,000 per month under this fellowship. 

When RGNF JRF is promoted to SRF, the candidate will receive an amount of INR 28,000 per month under this fellowship.

Contingency grants given to Science, Engineering, and Technology students

INR  12,000/- per annum.

Escorts/Reader assistance given to PH candidates

Step 4: Look for the National fellowship for Higher Education for ST students.

Step 5: Click the “See Details Info” to apply for the fellowship.

Step 6: Now click on the “Apply Now” button to open the Rajiv Gandhi National fellowship online application.

Step 7: Fill in all the required details carefully per instructions to avoid rejection.

Step 8: Upload all the necessary documents along with the scholarship application form and submit it.

Documents Required
