The Nationwide Education and Scholarship Test, NEST, is organized by Shrimanji’s Events Management Centre International and sponsored by The Students’ Unity Foundation of India. This test is conducted for two categories of students, and the respective tests are NEST Junior and NEST Senior. Students who qualify for the test are eligible for a reward of up to INR 50,000. Nationwide Education and Scholarship Test application still needs to be updated. However, the expected date for 2023 will be declared soon.

NEST Junior is further subdivided into two tests

  • NEST - Junior - 1: For students who are appearing or passing out class 9th or class 10th in their current academic year.
  • NEST - Junior - 2: For students who are appearing or passing out class 11th or class 12th in their current academic year.

NEST Senior is further subdivided into two tests

  • NEST - Senior - 1: For 1st and 2nd-year students of Engineering, Medical, Diploma Engineering (final year), BSc and BCA (all), etc.
  • NEST - Senior - 2: For 3rd and 4th- year students of Engineering, Medical, BSc and BCA (only Computer and IT Students).

Nationwide Education and Scholarship Test Eligibility Criteria

Students from class 9 onwards up to their final year Degree can avail the NEST scholarship. In order to apply, the candidates should belong to any of the following categories:

  • NEST - Senior - 1: Students in the first or second year of engineering, MBBS/ BAMS/ BHMS/ BDS, BCA and BSc (all streams), diploma in engineering (final year) and 12th-grade science.
  • NEST - Senior - 2: Students in the third and fourth year of engineering, MBBS/ BAMS/ BHMS/ BDS, BCA/ BSc (only IT and computer streams).
  • NEST - Junior - 1: Students passing out or appearing class 9th and 10th pursuing Science Stream.
  • NEST - Junior - 2: Students passing out or appearing class 11th and 12th pursuing Science Stream.

NEST Rewards

Different categories of rewards are applicable to the different category of rankers. Top rankers form all the categories are rewarded. The following is the detailed reward list for the exams:

  • Senior 1 - Selected candidates will receive a scholarship of INR 35,000. The first rank holders will receive INR 75,000.
  • Senior 2 - Selected candidates will receive a scholarship of INR 40,000. The first rank holders will receive INR 1 lakh.
  • Junior 1 - Selected candidates will receive a scholarship of INR 25,000 each. The first rank holder will receive a scholarship of INR 40,000.
  • Junior 2 - Selected candidates will receive a scholarship of INR 30,000 each. The first rank holder will receive a scholarship of INR 50,000.
  • Certification of Appreciation will be given to all candidates who score 40% and above.

NEST Application Process

Candidates must apply only on their official website.  The website is updated from time to time with details pertaining to the different exams. The last date mentioned in the table above is tentative and is subject to change at the provider's discretion. Following is the procedure to apply for Nationwide Education and Scholarship Test:

  • Interested candidates can apply by clicking here.
  • The candidate can register as a new user or log in as an existing user.
  • The candidate needs to fill in all the necessary details and upload the required documents.
  • The students will need to an application fee of INR 500 (for Junior 1) and INR 600 (for Junior 2).
  • The candidate can then submit the application.
  • The candidate can also pay the application fee through a demand draft in favor of “SEMCI INDIA”. It should be sent by registered post/ courier to - SEMCI INDIA, B-1, Piccadilly Flats, 57-J, Clare Road, Byculla, Mumbai - 400008.

Nationwide Education and Scholarship Test [NEST] Selection Process

  • The candidates are selected solely on the basis of their performance in the NEST.
  • The results for NEST Junior will be displayed on the official website.
