The Amar Ujala Foundation awards the Atul Maheshwari scholarship, which is a merit-cum-means scholarship that provides financial assistance to economically disadvantaged students who are pursuing education from government institutions. The primary aim of the scholarship is to provide a bright future to students facing a critical financial situation. A total of 38 students benefit from the scholarship every year. The candidates must clear a written test and a round of interviews to avail of the scholarship. The tentative last date to apply for the scholarship is September 30, 2023.

 Amar Ujala Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

The Amar Ujala merit-cum-means scholarship is provided to the economically weak students studying in government schools/ colleges. The other eligibility criteria to be fulfilled for the scholarship application and the states/ cities in which the examination takes place are listed below:

  • The applicant should be pursuing education from class 9 to 12 to be eligible for the scholarship.
  • They should have scored at least 60% marks in the last qualifying examination.
  • The candidate should be an Indian national.
  • They should belong to Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Chandigarh, Punjab, Haryana, or Uttarakhand state.
  • The annual family income of the applicant should not exceed INR 1,50,000 from all sources.

Amar Ujala Scholarship Rewards and Benefits

The students selected through the merit test receive the scholarship from Amar Ujala Foundation. A total of 36 scholars are awarded the scholarship with 18 students from class 9 & 10 and 18 students from class 11 & 12. Around 2 blind students from class 10 and 12 are also provided financial aid to help complete their education. The other scholarship benefits are given below:

  • A scholarship amount of INR 30,000 is awarded to 1 blind student from class 10.
  • A scholarship amount of INR 50,000 is awarded to 1 blind student from class 12.

Amar Ujala Scholarship Application Process

The Amar Ujala scholarship application is done online through the Amar Ujala web portal. The Amar Ujala Foundation scholarship form is accessed and submitted online. The step by step application process is given below:

  • Interested applicants should visit the ‘Atul Maheshwari Scholarship’ page on the Amar Ujala Foundation online portal.
  • They should click on the ‘New Here? Sign Up’ and sign up as a new user.
  • The candidate should create an account by entering details such as name, email ID, and password.
  • A confirmation link is sent to the applicants’ registered email address and he/ she should click the link to validate the new user account.
  • The candidate should now sign in to the portal to access the Amar Ujala scholarship application form.
  • The applicant should enter all the required details in the application form.
  • Finally, the candidate should upload all the supporting documents and ‘Submit’ the Amar Ujala scholarship application form to complete the application process.

Amar Ujala Scholarship Documents Required

The important documents to be uploaded along with the Amar Ujala scholarship application form are given below:

  • Passport size photograph of the applicant
  • Mark sheet of the last qualifying examination
  • Candidates’ domicile certificate such as aadhar card, ration card or school id card

Amar Ujala Scholarship Terms and Conditions

The terms and conditions to be fulfilled to apply for the Amar Ujala scholarship are listed below:

  • The blind applicants selected under the merit-cum-means scholarship should be pursuing education in one class below. 
  • The blind students can attend the written test with an assistant.
  • The applicant should submit only one email ID and mobile number along with one scholarship application.
  • The size of the supporting documents which are uploaded along with the application form should be more than 1 MB in size.
  • All the eligible candidates selected for the written test should carry his/ her admit card to the allocated exam venue.
  • The admit card is sent to the candidates through email.
  • The students are given an option to choose their exam center from a list of 57 cities.
  • The scholars are selected based on performance and marks obtained in the written exam.
  • All the38 final selected students are invited to Delhi for the felicitation ceremony where the scholarships are distributed.
