There are 33,000 vacancies for the teachers position in the state of Rajasthan. The REET exam is conducted by the State Government to fill these positions in the schools so as to give quality education to the students of Rajasthan.

What is REET?

Rajasthan Teachers Eligibility Test (REET)/ Rajasthan Eligibility Exam for Teachers (REET) is conducted by the Board of Secondary Examination, Rajasthan to recruit teachers for the Government and Private schools in the state of Rajasthan. This exam is a state-level exam wherein candidates must answer 150 MCQ questions in 2 hours 30 mins. There are two papers in the REET exam. Paper 1 is for Primary Level teachers, those who want to teach standard 1 to 5 and Paper 2 is for Upper Primary Level teachers, those who want to teach standard 6 to 8. This exam is conducted offline and answers must be given on the OMR sheet.

REET 2021 Exam Dates

The notification in the month of January 2021 was issued saying that the REET exam would be conducted on Sep 26, 2021. Candidates must check the website for the important dates as well as the application last date, admit card, result date, etc. and take the necessary action before the due date. REET 2021 Eligibility Criteria

To write the exam the candidates must qualify the REET eligibility criteria set by the Board of Secondary Examination, Rajasthan. These criteria are important so that the candidates that qualify the exam are of quality and have the skills and knowledge to teach the students the subjects efficiently. If a candidate fails to meet the REET eligibility criteria, he/she will not be allowed to appear for the exam.

Applicants must check the prescribed criteria before filling the application form. The criteria for both the papers are different if a candidate who wishes to appear for both the papers must fulfill the criteria for them separately. These criteria are mentioned below.

Paper 1 for Primary Level (1 to 5)

  • Candidates must have cleared class 12 exam with a minimum of 50% marks along with a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.

OR

  • Candidates must have cleared class 12 exam with a minimum of 45% marks along with a 2-year in Diploma in Elementary Education in accordance with NCTE.

OR

  • Candidates must have cleared class 12 exam with a minimum of 50% marks along with a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education.

OR

  • Candidates must have cleared class 12 exam with a minimum of 50% marks along with a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).

OR

  • Candidate must be a Graduate in any discipline along with a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.

Paper 2 for Upper Primary Level (6 to 8)

  • Candidate must be a graduate in any discipline along with a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education(D.El.Ed).

OR

  • Candidate must be a Graduate with a minimum of 50% marks along with a 2-year Bachelor in Education.

OR

  • Candidates must be Graduates with a minimum of 45% marks along with a 2-year Bachelor in Education in accordance with NCTE.

OR

  • Candidates must have cleared the class 12 exam with a minimum of 50% marks along with a 4-year Bachelors in Elementary Education.

OR

  • Candidates must have cleared class 12 exam with a minimum of 50% marks along with a 4-year B.A/ B.Sc.Ed or B.A Ed./B.Sc.Ed.

OR

  • Candidate must be a Graduate with at least 50% marks along with a 1-year Bachelor in Education (Special Education).

Note: The candidates must have either completed or are in the last year of their Diploma in Elementary Education/ Bachelor in Elementary Education/ Bachelor in Education (Special Education).

REET 2021 Application Form

To enroll for the exam the candidate must fill the REET application form which is available on the official website. The application form is to be submitted in the online mode and there is no offline mode to fill it. This is the first step to appearing for the exam. A candidate must fill the REET form thoroughly and without making any mistakes because there is no correction window after the submission.

The candidate must also have a valid unique email address and phone number so that important announcements could be communicated through these platforms. The candidate’s form is only considered successfully submitted if they have paid the application money. Steps to help candidates fill the form are given below.

  • Step 1: Candidate must go to the official website and register.
  • Step 2: After registering, a candidate must log in using the registration number or phone number whichever is set as the user name and password.
  • Step 3: Fill in the details as required and upload any documents if asked.
  • Step 4: After carefully checking if all the details have been correctly filled, candidates must submit the form and pay the REET registration fee.
  • Step 5: Candidate must download the receipt and registration form for future reference.

The REET 2021 application form submission last date is Jul 5, 2021.

REET Registration Fee

Candidates belonging to the General category and Other Backward Caste/Class (OBC) must pay INR 500/- for appearing for one paper i.e. either Paper 1 or Paper 2 and to appear for both the papers candidates must pay INR 800/- i.e. for Paper 1 and Paper 2. Candidates belonging to the Scheduled Tribe (ST), Scheduled Castes (SC) must pay INR 250/- for one paper (either of the two papers) and INR 500/- for Paper 1 and Paper 2. 

REET 2021 Admit Card

The REET admit card link will be released on the official website on Sep 16, 2021#admit_card_date. Candidates must click on the link and enter the registration number or phone number whichever is set as username and password. The admit card is the most important document that the candidate must carry along with themselves to write the exam. If a candidate fails to carry the REET admit card, they will not be allowed to give the exam. Apart from the admit card candidate must also carry any government id proof along with other essential documents to the examination hall. 

REET 2021 Exam Pattern

The exam conducted by the Board of Secondary School, Rajasthan for the recruitment of teachers is in the form of MCQs that applicants must answer in 2 hours 30 mins time period. One multiple choice question will have 4 options and the candidate must color the right answer for the respective question in the OMR Sheet provided to them. The candidate must answer all the questions and there are no options given to them. The exam is conducted in the offline mode.

Note: Candidates who opt for Mathematics and Science must only answer questions pertaining to Maths and Science, not Social Studies. Candidates opting for Social Studies must only answer questions pertaining to Social Studies, not Math and Science.

REET 2021 Syllabus

The syllabus drafted by the Board of Secondary School, Rajasthan by keeping in mind the expertise required by an individual to become a teacher. REET syllabus is the same as that of the students of the respective standards but the applicants will be tested on the in-depth knowledge and understanding they possess with respect to the subjects.

The candidates are given the REET syllabus so that they can prepare well and clear the exam. Candidates must prepare according to the syllabus but test their knowledge on the basis of the practicality of each chapter.

REET 2021 Cut-Off

REET cut-off limit is set by the Board that conducts this exam so that qualified applicants are qualified for the job of teaching. A candidate must get above this cut-off limit to be a teacher in any government or private school of Rajasthan. The cut-off limits are a benchmark level.

General Category: Candidates must get a minimum of 90 marks (60%) or above to qualify.

SC/ST Category: Candidates must get a minimum of 82 marks (55%) or above to qualify.

REET 2021 Result

REET merit list will be released after a month or two after the exam has been conducted. The list will be released on the official website. For candidates to check if they have qualified or not, they must follow the steps given below.

  • Step 3: Enter their Roll Number
  • Step 4: Click on Submit

REET result must be downloaded for future reference. Candidates who have qualified must print out the results and keep them ready and wait for further announcements.

Yes, a candidate can either choose to sit for one paper or the candidate can also choose to sit for two papers.

What is the fees for RTET OBC category?

The fees amount for General and OBC category for single paper is INR 500/- for two papers it is INR 800/-. The fees amount for SC and ST category for single paper is INR 250/- for two papers it is INR 500/-.
