Kerala SET also known as Kerala State Entrance Test is a golden opportunity for aspiring teachers to make their dreams come true. Kerala SET 2020 is set to take place at the earliest. It is an entrance examination which is conducted to hire aspiring candidates to the post of Higher Secondary School Teachers and Vocational Teachers. The examination is conducted in state level and consists of multiple-choice based objective type questions. The examination has two papers and is available in English language only. The Kerala SET entrance exam is of four hours duration. As part of Kerala SET exam, aspirants have to give two papers. While Paper-I is common for all candidates, Paper-II contains questions from the subject in which the candidate had a specialisation at post-graduation Level.

What is Kerala SET 2020?

Kerala State Eligibility Test (Kerala SET) is conducted by the Government of Kerala. Kerala SET is a test to recruit good teachers to ensure the high standards of teaching in Higher Secondary Course.

A pass certificate in State Eligibility Test (SET) is a mandatory requirement for appointment as Higher Secondary School Teachers in the State as per the Special Rules in force.

Students who aspire to have a career in the education/teaching field can apply for Kerala Set 2020. To appear in KSET 2020 examination, candidates should have done a Master’s degree program together with a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.).

The government of Kerala is the governing authority. Kerala SET 2020 is a State Level Examination. Kerala SET is conducted twice a year. The exam usually takes place in the month of March and September.

The exam will be conducted in two stages of individual papers i.e Paper I - General Knowledge and Aptitude and Paper II - Specialized Subjects.

Selection Process: The selection process of Kerela SET 2020 is based on the performance of the candidates. Candidates have to secure a specified cut-off marks/percentage to qualify the Kerala SET exam. Based on those marks, the candidates will be shortlisted.

Kerala SET 2020 Eligibility Criteria

Before appearing for any exam, candidates need to be well versed with eligibility criteria scenario such that any important events related with eligibility criteria should not be missed out at any circumstances. Applicants must go through the Kerala SET 2020  Eligibility Criteria before filling the application form. Eligibility criteria for all the subjects are different and the same has been listed below.

Age Criteria: There is No Age Limit prescribed for the candidate appearing for Kerala SET exam.

Educational Criteria: To attempt Kerala SET 2020, candidates should hold a Master’s degree in a specific subject with not less than 50% aggregate marks or equivalent grade. Also, the candidates should have a B.Ed degree in any discipline from any recognized university in Kerala or possess these qualifications from any other recognized universities.

Hindi Candidates who have acquired B.Ed Degree in Hindi conducted by the Dakshin Bharatha Hindi Prachar Sabha are exempted from the requirement of producing the equivalency certificate, as the degree has been recognized by the Universities in Kerala
Latin Cleared their degree exam in any discipline (from any University in Kerala or recognized as equivalent) with Latin as their second language under Paper II wherein they have secured at least 50% marks. These eligibility criteria hold true only if the candidate has secured a minimum of 50% aggregate marks for that Part II.

Kerala SET 2020 Application Form

Candidates can register for Kerala SET 2020 through Official Website from December 28, 2019 until the January 10, 2020. You should bear in mind that there will be NO CORRECTION WINDOW after the filling and submission of the application form.

In the Application form, candidates shall upload their photograph which should be of 200 pixels in height and 150 pixels in width. The image should be in JPG format and should not exceed 30 KB in size.

Kerala SET conducting authority will set the registration fee for the examination. The fee for the previous year is mentioned below. The registration fee can be paid via online mode only. Candidates have the option to pay using Net Banking, Debit Card and Credit Card.

How to apply for Kerala SET 2020?

Candidates can have look at the below listed points, which displays procedure to apply for the Kerala SET 2020 Exam.

Candidates have to visit the Official Website of Kerala SET i.e. Further, they have to go to the "Online Services" tab and select "SET and other exams". In the end, select the "SET-February-2020" option. Afterwards, follow the below procedure.

Step1: Registration of Mobile Phone

This is the first step of registration. You have to give your valid mobile phone number to start this process. Shortly after registering, you will receive an OTP on your mobile number.

Step2: Filling the Kerala SET 2020 online application form

You have to fill the personal and academic details asked in the online form and submit them. A registered ID will be displayed on the screen after the successful submission of the form. You should keep this ID safe for future references.

Step 3: Uploading photograph

You have to select a JPEG format photograph of the height of 200 pixels and a width of 150 pixels. The maximum file size should be 30 KB.

Step 4: Online payment of Kerala SET 2020 Registration fee

You have to make the payment of the application fee through online mode. You will have the option of Credit/debit card/Net banking or some other modes. the application fee would not be refunded to you in any case.

Step 5: Printing the Kerala SET 2020 Application

It is only after filling the application form completely that the candidates will be able to take the print-out of the application form. Candidates will be able to take the printout of the filled application only after performing the above steps successfully. An address slip will also get printed along with the application form. This address slip must be pasted on the envelope by the candidate for the purpose of sending the application. The application form to be sent by the candidate must be duly signed by the candidate after printing.

There is no provision for editing the application after submission. Hence, the candidates are advised to verify their information first (especially the District opted for the test centre, appearing subject for the test and the reservation category) before submission.

Kerala SET Exam 2020 Admit card will be available from March 21, 2020. Candidates can download admit card from the Official Website.

How to download Kerala SET 2020 Admit Card?

  • Visit the Official Website.
  • Click on Kerala Set 2020 link.
  • Click on the "Download Admit Card" option.
  • Enter the Application Number and Date of Birth/Site Access Key.
  • Admit Card will be downloaded into the device take the printout for future references.

Kerala SET 2020 Exam Pattern

Kerala SET Exam 2020 is divided into 2 papers. Each paper is of 2 hours duration. Both the papers have Multiple Choice Type (MCQ) questions. Paper-I has got 2 parts: Part-A and Part-B. Part A has questions based on General Knowledge and Part B consists of questions on Teaching aptitude.

Paper-II has questions from 35 subjects based on the candidates' specialization. All the questions carry 1 mark each. But for Mathematics and Statistics subjects, each question carries 1.5 marks each. There is no negative marking in any papers.

Aspiring candidates have an MSc Ed degree in the concerned subject with at least 50% marks in order to apply for the Kerala SET exam. The exam dates are yet to be announced by the conducting authority.
