Introduction to Kerala SET 2019 

  • About Kerala SET 2019: Kerala State Eligibility Test (Kerala SET), is conducted by Government of Kerala in order to ensure the standards of teaching in Higher Secondary Course.

  • Pass in the State Eligibility Test (SET) is stipulated as a mandatory requirement for appointment as Higher Secondary School Teachers in the State as per the Special Rules in force. 

  • The students who need to make their career in education /teaching field they have to apply for the Kerala Set 2019. For appearing the KSET 2019 examination candidates should have done master’s degree program together with Bachelor of education.

  • Conducting Body: Government of Kerala.

  • Level: Kerala SET 2019 is a State Level Examination.

  • Frequency: Kerala SET  is conducted once a year in the month of February.

  • Exam Paper: The Exam will be conducted in two Individual Papers i.e Paper I - General Knowledge and Aptitude and Paper II - Specialized Subjects.

Kerala SET 2019 Eligibility Criteria

  • Age Criteria: There is No Age Limit prescribed for the candidate appearing for Kerala set exam.

  • Education Criteria: Candidates meet Kerala SET 2019 eligibility criteria if they possess a Master’s degree in a specific subject with not less than 50% aggregate marks or equivalent grade.

    • Candidates shall have a BEd degree in any discipline from any university in Kerala or possess these qualifications from any other recognized universities.

Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry

Have MSc Ed degree in the concerned subject with at least 50% marks or equivalent grade from any Regional Instituted of Education that is sponsored by NCERT.

Botany and Zoology

Have MSc Ed degree in the concerned subject with at least 50% marks or equivalent grade from any Regional Instituted of Education that is sponsored by NCERT.

Or

Have MSc Ed degree in Life Science with at least 50% marks or equivalent grade from any Regional Institutes of Education

Anthropology, Commerce, French, Gandhian Studies, Geology, German, Home Science, Journalism, Latin, Music, Philosophy, Psychology, Russian, Social Work, Sociology, Statistics and Syriac

Possess BEd degree

English

Possess II class Master’s Degree in Communicative English with at least 50% marks as well as BEd degree.

Hindi

Candidates who have acquired BEd Degree in Hindi conducted by the Dakshin Bharatha Hindi Prachar Sabha are exempted from the requirement of producing the equivalency certificate, as the degree has been recognized by the Universities in Kerala

Latin

Cleared their degree exam in any discipline (from any University in Kerala or recognized as equivalent) with Latin as their second language under Paper II wherein they have secured at least 50% marks. These eligibility criteria hold true only if the candidate has secured a minimum of 50% aggregate marks for that Part II.


Kerala SET 2019 Application Form

  • Registration: Candidates can register for Kerala SET 2019 through Official Website from 6th June 2019 to 30th June 2019.

  • Correction Window: After the successful completion of the registration process the exam conducting authority will allow the applicants to make any corrections in their registered data.

  • Document Upload: In the Application form, candidates shall upload their photograph which should be of 200 pixels in height and 150 pixels in width. The image should be in JPG format and should not exceed 30 KB in size.

  • Registration Fee: The Kerala SET conducting authority will set the registration fee for the examination.

    • The registration fee can be paid both through online and offline.

    • Online Mode: Candidates can pay through Net Banking, Debit Card and Master Card.

    •  Offline Mode: Candidates can pay through Demand Draft (DD)

Kerala SET 2019 Application Process

  • Registration: Candidates shall register themselves for the Kerala SET through the Official Website.

  • Pay Registration Fee: After registering for the examination candidate shall pay the registration fee either through online mode or through offline mode.

  • Application Number and Site Access Key: Once the candidate has registered successfully and paid the examination fee he/she will be given with the Application Number and the site access permission to continue the Application Process.

    • Candidates residing in Kerala will receive Application Number and site Access key through Post.

    • Candidates residing Outside Kerala shall pay the Registration Fee through Demand Draft and shall be drawn from any of the nationalized banks of India.

    • DD shall be in Favour of Director, LBS Centre for Science and Technology payable at Thiruvananthapuram.

    • Such a request needs to be made by post, along with the DD and a self-addressed envelope, and this shall reach the Director LBS centre at least 10 days before the completion of the registration process.

    • SC/ST/VH/PH candidates shall produce Community Certificate/ Disability Certificate to get the site Access Key and Application Number.

  • Fill Application Form: After receiving the Application Number and the Site Access Key, Candidates shall proceed  to fill the Application Form

    • Visit the Kerala SET Official Website and click on Online Registration, the candidate shall provide the application number and the site access key to proceed with the registration process.

    • Upload candidate Photograph and other documents if any.

    •  Continue filling the application form with the required details.

    • Click on Submit after filling the application form completely.

    • Take the print out of Application form for future references. 


Kerala SET 2019 Admit Card

  • Kerala SET 2019 Admit card will be available from 1st September 2019.

  • Candidates can download admit card from the Official Website

    • Visit the Official Website.

    • Click on Kerala Set 2019 link.

    • Click on Download Admit card.

    • Enter the Application Number and Date of Birth/Site Access Key.

    • Admit Card will be downloaded into the device take the printout for future references. 


Kerala SET 2019 Exam Centre

  • Director, LBS Cente for Science and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram will set the Exam Location for all the Kerala SET 2019 candidates.

  • Exact Venue of the Examination Cente will be displayed on the Admit Card. 

  • The examination Centres will be in 13 different Districts.

Kerala SET 2019 Exam Pattern

  • Kerala SET 2019 Exam pattern is such that it is divided into 2 papers

  • Each Paper is of 2 hours duration.

  • Both the paper Questions is Multiple Choice Type.

  • Paper-I have got 2 parts A and B,  Part A has questions on General Knowledge and Part B is of Aptitude on Teaching.

  • Paper-II have questions from 33 subjects based on the candidates' specialisation.

  • All the questions carry 1 marks each and Mathematics and Statistics carries 1.5 marks each and there is no negative marking.

  • Based on the results of the Kerala SET the candidates are appointed as Higher Secondary School Teachers and Non-Vocational Teachers in VHSE.
