What is AIFSET?

The All India Forensic Science Entrance Test (AIFSET) is a national level entrance test conducted to enrol students who are interested to pursue forensic science as a career option. Candidates who are interested in pursuing a career in this field can apply to the course through this examination. The duration of the course is three years for a Bachelor of Science program.

The department mainly focuses on training the students in life sciences and forensic sciences. The students get hands-on training in the state of the art laboratory facilities of the department. The faculty are individuals who have developed themselves as independent researchers and have also designed a curriculum to meet the diverse interests of students pursuing forensic sciences.

About the Course

The Bachelor's of Science: Forensic Sciences course is a three-year undergraduate program for individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in Forensic Science. The course mainly trains students to understand and analyze a criminal activity and/or a crime scene. Forensic Science is mostly a crime-scene based science, but graduates of forensic science are also consulted in civil cases such as proving the validity of a signature on a will or an important document. Professionals in forensic sciences are also consulted for any issue where the people involved could be cutting corners or performing illegal activities.

Forensic Science is broadly classified into three groups: Medical Science, Laboratory Science and Field Science.

  • Medical Data Science includes forensic pathology, psychiatry, psychology, forensic medicine and ontology.
  • Laboratory Sciences includes chemistry, biology, toxicology, ballistics, fingerprints, suspected documents, and marks & impressions.
  • Field Sciences include crime scenes investigation which incorporates areas such as fire and explosion scenes and secret drug laboratories.

AIFSET 2021 Important Dates

The AIFSET 2021 important dates for Phase 3 are as mentioned below:

  • Registration: The application form for the AIFSET 2021 will be available from Apr 19, 2021 to May 21, 2021. Interested candidates can submit their applications on or before this date.
  • Exam Dates: The AIFSET 2021 will be conducted on May 22, 2021 and May 23, 2021.
  • Results: The results for the examination will be announced on May 25, 2021.

AIFSET 2021 Eligibility Criteria

To appear for the AIFSET 2021 that candidate must satisfy the minimum eligibility criteria. If the candidate is found to not satisfy the criteria, then his/her candidature can be cancelled at any time during the admission process.

The candidates must have a minimum education qualification of Higher Secondary (10+2) or any equivalent education with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and/or Mathematics as the main subjects with a minimum aggregate of 45% or should be appearing for the same in 2021.

AIFSET 2021 Application Form

The application form for the AIFSET 2021 will be available online only. Candidates will have to fill the application with all the relevant and valid information after making sure that they satisfy the minimum eligibility criteria for the examination. The application form will not be available in any other mode.

How to register for the AIFSET?

  • Visit the official website
  • Click on the "AIFSET 2021" link, and register for the examination by providing your Email ID, or Phone Number.
  • A computerized verification with Username and Password will be sent to your registered email ID/Phone Number.
  • Click on the link and activate your login portal by entering given username and password
  • After logging in to the portal, complete the payment by clicking on Pay Now.
  • Proceed to the payment portal and choose Card/Net Banking or UPI as per your choice.
  • After successful payment, your application form will be registered.

AIFSET 2021 Application Fee

Interested candidates are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of INR 2000 to be able to take up the examination. The candidature of an individual will be confirmed only after the payment of the application fee, which is another reason why the candidate must make sure that he/she satisfies the eligibility criteria for the examination.

The application fee can be paid through the payment portal on the official website through any online mode of payment such as debit/credit card, or internet banking.

Important Instructions for AIFSET 2021

The AIFSET 2021 exam will be conducted in online mode. Candidates will be given a time slot to appear for the exam that will be conducted on March 19-20, 2021. Candidates are requested to appear at least 15 minutes before the beginning of the examination. The test slots for the exam day will be informed later.
Candidates will have a 15 minute relaxation time to start the examination. After this, the link will be inaccessible. If the connection during the exam is interrupted, the candidates are requested to contact the concerned authority immediately.
For the day of the examination, the candidates will have to visit the exam portal and login with the unique user id and password provided to them after registering for the examination.

AIFSET 2021 Syllabus

The syllabus for the AIFSET 2021 is the same as their 12th (or equivalent) syllabus for the main subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics). You must have enough practice and revision of this syllabus before applying for the examination as this will be giving you an edge in clearing the examination.

AIFSET 2021 Results

The results for the AIFSET 2021 examination will be announced on the official website. The candidates who have appeared for the examination will not be receiving the results or the scorecard through any other means.

  • Log in to the portal with your registered email ID and password.
  • The scorecard will be displayed on the screen after a successful login.
  • Download and take a printout of this scorecard for future purposes.
