TNSET stands for the abbreviation of the Tamil Nadu State Eligibility Test. It is a state-level entrance examination. Candidates willing to work as Assistant Professor in colleges/universities of Tamil Nadu can appear for this examination.

TNSET 2023 Eligibility

There are specific eligibility criteria that the candidate must hold to appear for the TNSET entrance examination.

Marks Criteria
  • Candidates who belong to the unreserved category must secure an aggregate of 55%. In contrast, those who belong to the reserved category must obtain a total of 50% in these subjects Humanities (including language), Library and Information Science, Computer Science and Applications, Science, Electronic Science.
  • Candidates have to qualify for the Master’s degree from the University recognised by UGC New Delhi.
Qualification Candidates who are pursuing their final year of Master’s and those whose results are not declared are also eligible for this examination.

TNSET 2023 Online Application Form

To complete the process of the TNSET application form, candidates must register themselves. The steps that the candidate should follow while registering are:

  • Candidates must go through the TNSET official website.
  • They must click on the link “Online Application Form”.
  • The screen will display the registration form.
  • In the login ID button, candidates can enter their mobile number and click on the Submit button.
  • The screen will display another page that will show the application fee for all the categories.
  • Candidates must select their category, and it will redirect them to the online payment gateway of SBI.
  • Select the course details.
  • Fill in the payment details.
  • After completion of the payment, the candidate will receive a receipt from SBI Online gateway.
  • Candidates must save the transaction ID and download the receipt in a pdf format.
  • Upload the payment slip and all the mandatory documents and click on the submit button.

Candidates must remember that papers 1 & 2 consist of 50 questions and 100 marks whereas, Paper 3 consists of 75 problems of 150 marks. For Paper 1 & 2, the time allotted for the exam is 1 hour 15 minutes whereas, for Paper 3, the time allotted is 2 hours.

TNSET 2023 Syllabus

The entire syllabus of TNSET is the same as that of UGC/ CSIR NET 2023. There are a total of three papers out of which paper one will consist of questions from these topics- Reasoning Ability, Comprehension, Divergent Thinking & General Awareness. TNSET 2023 Preparation

Mother Teresa Women’s University will publish the answer key after the result declaration on the official website. The answer key of the TNSET examination is available in pdf format. The University will also notify the last date of objecting the answer key. If the applicants find any wrong answer or are not satisfied with the answer key, they have the right to challenge the answer key. To test the answer key, they must make a payment as per the notification. The candidates can challenge the answer key within 15 days after the publication of the answer key. Once the objection deadline is over, the candidate can not challenge the answer key.

TNSET 2023 Counselling

The exam authority will conduct the TNSET counselling in online mode after completing the TNSET result declaration.

The university will summon only those candidates who qualified for the TNSET cut off. The entire counselling process is based on the merit list and seat availability.

For the counselling process, candidates have to register at the official website. In addition, the candidates must carry all the respective documents at the time of counselling.

The candidates who will qualify for the personal interview (PI) round are eligible for the post of Assistant Professor.

TNSET 2023 Admission

After completing all the counselling rounds, the University will provide an admission letter to the candidates that will contain the allotted seat of candidates. In the admission letter, the date & time will be available. Candidates must keep in mind that they must reach the college at the allotted date & time and submit all the necessary documents. If they fail to do so, the University has the right to cancel their seat. Once the candidates report at the respective college, they must pay the admission fee to confirm their admission.
