The Haryana Teachers Eligibility Test or HTET is conducted by the Haryana Government and Board of School Education, Haryana. It is a state-level exam written by approximately 200,000 candidates for Level 1 (PRT) and 150,000 for Level 2 (PGT) and 80,000 candidates for Level 3 (TGT). Candidates who are seeking teaching jobs in Government Schools of Haryana Government may take the HTET examination.

What is the HTET Exam?

About HTET Exam: The HTET exam is a written exam conducted by the Board of School Education Haryana. It is an aptitude exam to check whether the teachers are capable enough to handle the challenges of the Elementary, Secondary, and Senior Secondary Schools. This exam has 3 Levels. Level 1 is for Primary School Teachers (class 1-5) Level 2 is for Trained Graduate Teachers (class 2-8) and Level 3 is for Post Graduate Teacher (class 8 and above).

Level of Exam: It is a state-level exam for candidates who want to teach in the state of Haryana, to be recognized as teachers of the Department of School Educations, Haryana, and/or be affiliated to the Board of School Education, Haryana.

The exam is conducted annually for Level 1, 2, and 3 candidates. This exam is conducted following the guidelines set by the National Council for Teacher Education/Department of School Education, Haryana. The board will issue a TET certificate to the candidates who will qualify the written examination. The certificate will be valid for five years. Candidates can apply for the HTET vacancies after obtaining the HTET Certificate.

Candidates who are planning to write the HTET 2021 exam must have a clear idea about the important dates of the exam. The online application process will begin from April, 2021.

HTET 2020 Important Dates

The exam was held on January 2, 2021 and January 3, 2021. The provisional answer key was released right on the next day, i.e., January 4, 2021. Objections against the answer key could be raised till January 8, 2021. The result for HTET 2020 has been announced on January 22, 2021. 

HTET 2021 Eligibility Criteria

Before applying for the HTET 2021 exam, candidates must make sure that they meet the eligibility criteria as prescribed by the Board of Secondary Education- Haryana (BSE-H) to write HTET exam. If it is found that the candidate doesn't satisfy the eligibility criteria at later stages of selection, then his/her candidature will stand cancelled.

Age Limit

The candidate must be of age between 18 to 38 years to apply for the HTET 2021 exam.

Educational Qualification

The educational qualification is different for each level. Level 1 is for the primary teacher (class 1 to 5), level 2 for the trained graduate teacher (classes 6 to 8) and level 3 requires postgraduate teachers (above class 8). The educational requirement for each level of HTET 2021 exam is discussed below:

For Level-I (Class I to V)

For a candidate who wants to appear for the Level 1 exam, he/she must have passed the 12th exam with a minimum 50% along with a Diploma in Elementary Education either passed or appearing the final exam.

For Level-II (Class VI to VIII)

For appearing in the Level 2 exam, a candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree along with B.Ed passed or appearing in the final year and a 2 years diploma in elementary education passed or appearing in the final year. 

For Level-III (Class VIII above)

To appear for the Level 3 exam, a candidate must have a Master’s degree along with B.Ed passed or appearing final exam and 2 years Diploma in elementary education passed or should be appearing for the final exam.

HTET 2021 Application Process

The application process is entirely online. The form is expected to release along with the official notification, in the month of April, 2021. Candidates are requested to go through the eligibility criteria carefully before applying for the examination. Candidates can select the levels as per their preference and eligibility. The online application process includes registration, uploading of documents, and fee payment.

How to fill up the HTET 2021 Application Form?

A step-by-step guideline to fill up the HTET 2021 application form is given below for your reference. 

  • Candidates need to visit the official website of Board of School Education Haryana - www.bseh.org.in
  • On the homepage of the website, click on the HTET 2021 application form link.
  • Read all the instructions given before you start filling the details. Once you are done, enter all the mandatory personal details such as Candidate's full name, Parent's name, gender, religion, date of birth, mobile number, email ID, communication and permanent address, etc and educational qualification details such as graduation degree, year of passing, CGPA/marks secured etc.
  • Click on save and submit. A provisional User ID & registration number will be sent to the registered e-mail ID.
  • In the next process, candidates need to upload their recent passport size colour photograph and scanned copy of the signature and thumb impression. The specifications of the mentioned documents is given below. Verify all your details before submitting them.
  • In the last step, candidates must make the application fee payment through online mode using Debit card/Credit card/ net banking. 
  • Once the payment is made, download and take the printout of the completed HTET 2021 application form for future reference. The details about the application fee are given below.

HTET 2021 Admit Card

The HTET Admit Card 2021 will tentatively be released in November 2021. The HTET Admit Cards are issued by the Board of Secondary Education- Haryana, and will only be available for download on their official website. BSEH takes no responsibility of sending the admit cards by post, to the registered address of the candidates. The admit card will be available under the login section and must be downloaded. The admit cards will only be available online. No candidate will be allowed to appear for the HTET 2021 exam without an admit card. Apart from the HTET 2021 admit card, the candidates must also carry a valid id proof like Pan Card, Aadhaar Card, Driving License, or their Voter IDs.

Steps to download the HTET 2021 Admit Card

  • Candidates need to visit the official website of BSEH.
  • On the homepage of the website, check for the HTET 2021 section and click on admit card notification.
  • Candidates need to enter their credentials to log in. 
  • After login, candidates can view and download the HTET 2021 admit card. They must check the details mentioned on the admit card.
  • Take a print out of the admit card.

HTET 2021 Exam Pattern

Candidates aspiring for the HTET 2021 exam must have a clear idea about the pattern of the exam paper in terms of the type of question, marking scheme, exam duration etc. The detailed exam pattern is discussed below.

Duration and question: The total number of questions for all the three levels is 150 and the total duration is 2 hours 30 minutes to attempt all the three levels. The HTET 2021 exam will be conducted only in offline mode i.e it will be a pen and paper-based exam.

Marking Scheme: For each correct response, +1 mark is awarded in the HTET paper and there is no penalty for wrong answers, which means that there is no negative marking in the HTET 2021 Exam. Candidates will be provided with an OMR sheet, where they will have to choose the answer by darkening the circle for the corresponding option. HTET 2021 Syllabus

BSEH releases the HTET 2021 Syllabus for all the levels. The HTET 2021 Syllabus is different for all the levels. The main motive behind the HTET Syllabus is to test the mental ability and knowledge of the candidates. The subjects covered under each level are discussed below:

The detailed HTET 2021 syllabus of each subject is given below:

Child Development and Pedagogy- Educational psychology of teaching and learning relevant to the age group of 11- 16 years Understanding the characteristics and needs of diverse learners, interaction with learners and the attributes and qualities of a good facilitator of learning.

Languages (Hindi/English)- These sections will focus on the proficiency related to the medium of instruction.

Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning & General Awareness- This section cover topics related to Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability and Haryana G.K. It will focus on the elements of Mental and Reasoning Ability and General Knowledge regarding Haryana State

Mathematics & Environmental Studies- This section cover topics related to Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability and Haryana G.K It will focus on the elements of Mental and Reasoning Ability and General Knowledge regarding Haryana State.

Subject opted by the candidates (Social Studies/Science/Mathematics/Others)- This section will deal with the specific subject chosen by the candidates. Various concepts, problem-solving abilities and pedagogical understanding of the subjects/topics taught in class VI- X by the Education Department, Govt. of Haryana.

HTET 2021 Exam Centres

The HTET 2021 exam will be conducted in 7 cities in the state of Haryana. Candidates can choose their desired exam centre at the time of filling the application form. The exam centre once allotted to the candidates cannot be modified/changed at the later stage.

HTET 2021 Result

The exam results for HTET 2020 have been announced on January 22, 2021. The candidates can go to the designated website, i.e., www.bseh.org.in to check the same. 

The applicant must go through 2 rounds to qualify to teach. The first round is the written test. On qualifying the first round the candidate is eligible for the second round which is a personal interview round.

How to check HTET Result?

The process of viewing the result is as follows:

  • Step 1: Visit the official website of HTET.
  • Step 2: Select the Level of exam and enter the Roll Number.
  • Step 3: Click on submit.
  • Step 4: The result will appear in the next window.

On passing the exam, the scores are valid for a period of 7 years from the date of receiving the results.

HTET 2021 Selection Process

Passing the HTET 2021 examination is not enough to get the call letter for the interview. Candidates must satisfy all the eligibility criteria as per the Service Rules to get the final appointment letter. The selection process gives weightage to three things. They are as follows:

  • Written Test: 80%
  • Personal Interview: 12%
  • Teaching Experience: 8%

HTET 2021 Cut-Off

  • All categories (this does not include schedule caste and schedule tribe and disabled candidates)- 60% (90 marks out of 150)
  • For Schedule Caste and Schedule Tribe/ Physically challenged of Other State- 50% (82 marks out of 150)
  • For Schedule Caste or Schedule Tribe/ Physically challenged- 55% (82 marks out of 150)

HTET 2021 Answer Key

The board will release the answer key for the HTET 2021 examination on the official website. The answer key for the Level 1, 2, 3 exams will be released by the Haryana Government and Board of School Education after the examination. The candidates can get their HTET answer keys by going to the official web portal. The answer keys will be issued for Levels 1, 2, 3 in sets A, B, C, D, and E and their parts 1, 2, 3, 4. The HTET Answer Keys will help applicants speculate their scores in the HTET Exam. The board also provides an opportunity for the candidates to challenge the answer key.
