Table of Contents
The CBSE 12th Physics Exam 2026 will be conducted for a total of 100 marks. The Theory paper is worth 70 marks and Practical assessment is worth 30 marks. The Theory assessment will include MCQs, Assertion type questions, and Very Short, Short and Long questions. The Practical assessment will assess Experiments, Activities and Projects. As there is no negative marking in the 12th Physics Examination conducted by CBSE, it is advisable that all 33 theory questions and practicals be attempted in the examination.
The Theory assessment will consist of five sections. Section A contains 16 Objective type questions (MCQs, Assertions and Reasons) for a total of 16 marks, Section B contains 5 Very Short Answer Type Questions (10 marks total), Section C contains 7 Short Descriptive Answer Type Questions (21 marks total), Section D contains 2 Case Study Based Questions (8 marks total), and Section E contains 3 Long Descriptive Type Questions (15 marks total).

Given below are some tips for achieving a high score on the CBSE Class 12th Physics Weightage 2026:
- Look for the topics that have been asked a lot on previous exams within each chapter.
- Spend as little time as possible on chapters that only carry three to five marks. This will maximize your achievements in chapters that carry ten to fourteen marks.
