The process begins in the second week of March for IIT Kanpur. The candidate needs to visit the official website of IIT Kanpur and follow the following steps:

1. Click on ‘Academics’ followed by ‘PG Programmes’, and then ‘M. Tech Admissions
2. The online application portal will open, where the candidates will have to fill out all the fields of the application as required.
3. After submitting the personal details on the application form, upload the prescribed documents (as mentioned below) and pay the application fee of Rs. 400 online (Rs. 200 for reserved categories).
4. Submitting all the details in the online application for M.Tech admission along with fees will be considered as successful registration.
5. After the application fee payment, take the printout of the application form for future reference. The candidates need not send the hard copy of the application form to IIT Kanpur by post.

Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP)

Often, candidates must have seen that whenever a large body is involved, there is a counselling process.

However, GATE does not have any of that in the conventional method known to us generally, and rather, for their admissions, the candidates are supposed to go through the Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP).
