The following are the eligibility criteria for IIT Mandi. Only candidates who fulfil these criteria are eligible to apply for admission.

• A valid GATE scorecard to be eligible to apply. Candidates who belong to IITs and have secured a CGPA of 8.0 or above are exempt from requiring a GATE scorecard and are eligible for direct admission.

Candidates who aspire to pursue their M.Tech at IIT Mandi and have cleared GATE may apply for the various courses offered by the institute by following the steps given below.

• Candidates need to register themselves on the GATE Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP). The counselling process and seat allocation for the IITs will be done on this portal.
• The COAP registration number is mandatory for filling out the Institute's application form.
• Filling out the Institute's application form is also essential.
• To do this, candidates need to visit the admissions portal of IIT Mandi. 
• Here they must log in and fill in the personal details as required in the form.
• Candidates will then need to pay the application fee and then submit the form online.

IIT Mandi MTech Admission Process

The candidates who fulfil the eligibility criteria and have cleared the IIT Mandi GATE cutoff will be shortlisted by the Institute. 

• Candidates applying via GATE may be required to attend a Personal Interview and a Written test at the institute. The date and time for this process will be communicated to the candidates by the admissions team. 
• The final admission will be offered to candidates based on past academic records, scores in the GATE exam, and marks obtained in the Personal Interview and Written Test. 
• The final decision to offer admission will be made by the admissions team of the institute.
