Merit Cum Means Scholarship

For the length of the program, students receive a full tuition waiver and a monthly pocket allowance of Rs 1000. It is a merit-based scholarship with a means component. Beneficiaries must maintain a minimum CPI of 6.5. pocket allowance is discontinued if the CPI exceeds 6.5 (but remains above 6.0). To apply for the award, a student merely needs to submit a copy of their parent's income tax return. Students from other than the category (SC/ST) who have a parent's annual income of less than 4.5 lakhs can apply for this award.

Inspire Scholarship

Students are awarded an annual scholarship of Rs 30,000 per semester (Rs. 60,000 annually) and a Rs 20,000 research grant at IIT Kanpur. Students in the Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics departments who have an AIR of 10,000 or higher on the common merit list are eligible for this prize. Students must submit an undertaking to the SSPC each semester to not receive any other scholarship. It is a merit-based award, and beneficiaries must maintain a CPI of at least 6.0.

Donor Scholarships

The institute awards donor Scholarships to deserving and needy students. A total of 115 scholarships were awarded.

Free-Basic Mess Scholarship

Students who fall into the category (SC/ST) and have an annual household income of less than 4.5 lakhs can apply for this award. The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur scholarship provides students with a free basic meal bill and a pocket allowance.

External Scholarships

The institute assists its students in obtaining external scholarships. The Government of India (GoI) has launched the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) for students around the country to get full information about numerous GoI scholarships as part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Digital India initiative.

Sports Scholarship

A maximum of 20 scholarships in the sum of Rs. 1,000 per month for nine months will be awarded to IIT Kanpur students who demonstrate leadership in sports-related activities that lead to development, growth, and increasing engagement in various sports. In addition, performance in Inter-IIT and other external sports competitions demonstrates excellence in sports.

Academic Excellence Awards

The institute honours its students academic achievements with several academic excellence prizes. These prizes are offered to deserving IIT Kanpur students with a CPI of 8.5 or higher in the preceding academic year. The prior academic year's CPI (API) is exclusively determined for the previous academic year.
