Placements and Internships
- I got an internship at OYO rooms in 3rd year for a stipend of Rs 10,000 per month. There is a facility for an internship in 3rd year summers. But 90% companies come for Computer science branch. Very few companies for other branches
- The average package is around Rs 5,00,000 and 60% get placed in tier 2 companies. Rest go for tier 3 companies like Cognizant and Infosys.
- The key companies that visit are the campus for hiring students are Coding, Consultancies and Core branch.
- The alumni network is huge with many CEOs but the college has somewhat failed to keep the connection with all of them. The base is huge and one can go for personal help from alumni.
College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities
- There are total 13 hostels. 11 for boys and 2 for girls. Hostels are single roomed from 2nd year. Girls always have double rooms. Hostels have LAN for internet and file sharing facility.
- The food quality is good.
- The library is twice as big as a cinema hall. Buildings and labs are good and well maintained but there is scope for a lot of improvement.
Entrance Exams and Admissions
- The eligibility criteria are 12th pass with minimum 60% or above.
- You need to give JEE Mains and on basis of online counselling on All India Rank you get admission. I gave JEE MAIN in 2013 and got 162 marks. I got 89.2% in 12th CBSE. Combining both my All India Rank was 39587. I got Chemical engineering through online counselling. Generally for core branches like CS, ECE, Mech you need a rank within 15000. Last seat may be availaible even upto 40000 rank.
- You should score 180/360 in JEE MAIN.
Academics and Faculty
- The class timings are from 8 am to 5 pm.
- The quality of teachers is below average.
- Overall experience is good.
Fees and Scholarships
- The course fee is Rs 7,27,000 per semester.
- Scholarships are availiable for people with low family income and who score above 8 gpa in a particualr semester.
- Loans are availaible from public and private sector banks.
Clubs and Associations
- There are numerous clubs and student societies. From technical ones to cultural ones to debating, quizzing and entrepreneurship clubs. I myself is Vice President for Entrepreneurship Development Cell (BIT Mesra). Clubs gives you many opportunities to meet new people, explore your interests and get leadership training.
