Placements and Internships
- Being in COES ( College of Engineering Studies), Placement are fairly better except for 3-4 branches ( Fire Safety Eng, Material Science, and few CS branches).
- You get a job anyhow from this college but the average Package fo Btech Ranges from Rs 3.2-3.5 lakhs per annum. Its good to start from this package and take some experience. Mtech ,MBA have far better placement with average package between Rs 4.5-5.0 lakhs per annum
College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities
- Two food courts, 4 ATMS , Nescafe Cafeteria area etc are wonderful places to eat with a cheap and best quality food.
- College is surrounded by Wonderful Mussoorie Himalaya Ranges which takes this college under top 15 beautiful campuses in INDIA. Infrastructure is not bad at all. College Library has very spacious and clean atmosphere. All you love here is Weather.
Entrance Exams and Admissions
- UPES takes its admission in all disciplines either Btech, Mtech, B Des , M Des, MBA etc through its all test ONLY. Test is just a formality. It is fairly easy.
- You can get admission here if you have just appeared for entrance exam (rank doesn't matter much here)
Academics and Faculty
- The quality is not upto the mark as the fee that you will pay. Exams are very fair with a high number of backlogs. Assignments, Tests are scheduled regularly. Passing Criterion is little bit tough.
Fees and Scholarships
- Fees is fairly high as compared to other private institutions. This college is 3rd most expensive private college in INDIA. Btech fees is Rs 13-14 lakhs for 4 year. MBA is the most costly affair to this college.
- Scholarships are provided in 1st year for all those meritorious students.
- Among 3000 students only 15-20 get the scholarship
Clubs and Associations
- Clubs & Associations have not yet improved themselves. Although there are number of clubs (IEEE, ASME etc) but none of them are worth useful. The only profit that you can have these clubs is the TSHIRT that they will provide you. Of course that's your money only. Certificates are never valued of these clubs

Entrance Exams & Admissions : Eligibility criteria to get admission in University of Petroleum and Energy Studies is 60 % in Entrance exam I took UPESEAT and obtained a good rank below 5600.
Academics & Faculty : Classes start from morning from 9 am or 10 am and go upto 4 or 5 pm.Each class is of one hour duration and we have a break of one hour and on some week days 2 hours, usually at noon (between 12pm and 3pm).We have labs, of 2 hours duration. We don't have lab exams instead there is a concept of regular evaluation based on our lab performance and there are marks awarded by even the lab assistant for good performance. Saturdays and sundays are holidays. Different kinds of projects keep coming, depends whether you want to take part or not. In third year we have two minor projects and in fourth year we have 2 major projects. We have two exams for each subject one mid semester and the other one is end semester. The former one has 20% weightage and the other one has 50% weightage. Rest 30% are the internal assesment marks lying in the hands of the teacher.
