Entrance Exams & Admissions : UPES takes its admission in all disciplines either Btech, Mtech, B Des , M Des, MBA etc through its all test ONLY. Test is just a formality. It is fairly easy. You can get admission here if you have just appeared for entrance exam (rank doesn't matter much here)
Academics & Faculty : Classes start from morning from 9 am or 10 am and go upto 4 or 5 pm.Each class is of one hour duration and we have a break of one hour and on some week days 2 hours, usually at noon (between 12pm and 3pm).We have labs, of 2 hours duration. We don't have lab exams instead there is a concept of regular evaluation based on our lab performance and there are marks awarded by even the lab assistant for good performance. Saturdays and sundays are holidays. Different kinds of projects keep coming, depends whether you want to take part or not. In third year we have two minor projects and in fourth year we have 2 major projects. We have two exams for each subject one mid semester and the other one is end semester. The former one has 20% weightage and the other one has 50% weightage. Rest 30% are the internal assesment marks lying in the hands of the teacher.
